--> Tarantino at his best. The movie is filled with excellent dialog.

Captain Fantastic - (2016) - B+
--> Thought-provoking movie about a father who lives a secluded life together with his children.

All the President's Men - (1976) - B+
--> Classic movie starrring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman on the Watergate scandal.

John Wick: Chapter 2 - (2017) - B
--> One of those rare action movie sequels that is just as good as the original.

Bridget Jones's Baby - (2016) - B-
--> This could easily be really bad, but it somehow works.

Rogue One - (2016) - A
--> *CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ALERT* This is probably my favourite Star Wars movie I've seen so far. It stands on its own and doesn't contain all of the SJW/girl p0wer/leftist ideology BS that absolutely ruin the new trilogy. It's as if focusing on telling a good story actually makes for a better movie than trying to shoehorn woke ideology into a movie regardless of whether it fits. Who knew! /s.

The Theory of Everything - (2014) - B-
--> Good effort by Redmayne but I lost interest at some point during the movie.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout - (2018) - A++
--> Holy hell, what a movie! I have honestly never seen anything like that IMAX helicopter scene and was blown away when I saw the behind-the-scenes explanation of it. Tom Cruise is a legend.

The Homesman - (2014) - B
--> Interesting movie set in the 19th century.

Hell or High Water - (2016) - B+
--> A sort of neo-Western film with great cinematography and interesting characters.

Passengers - (2016) - B
--> Novel concept but some of the characters' choices are weird and some plot points not well thought out.

Dunkirk - (2017) - B
--> Obviously a well-made epic war movie, but I did not connect much with the characters.

I quite liked Dunkirk, and actually thought the lack of a central character was a strength. The war itself was the "main character" in a sense, and I think it worked well. I finished my re-watch of Chuck the TV series, and started a re-watch of The Beatles Anthology series on DVD. I'm about halfway through already.

Been going the series of Quantum Leap again. Such a good show, begs for a reboot of some sort.

Although I wasn't a regular watcher of the show, I could see it being a successful reboot or continuation. Heck, they could try to find a way to incorporate Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett into the show somehow, seeing as how (SPOILER ALERT!!!) he never found his way back home at the end of the original series.


And speaking of 1980s TV: YouTube has been streaming marathons of G.I. Joe: A Real American* Hero for the last few days, and I've been leaping in and out of those streams.


I hafta admit, as much as I loved G1 TransFormers, the G.I. Joe show was much better written... which isn't saying all that much, really. Let's just say the corny cringe levels of G.I. Joe are significantly lower than that of TransFormers...


I've also been catching an episode here and there of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. I took close notice of the writers of some of these episodes, which included Paul Dini of the DC animated shows from the 90s, and J. Michael Straczynski, creator of Babylon 5. I also liked how the "moral-of-the-day" at the end of each episode wasn't just tacked on, but was incorporated into the episode itself. And how could I not be amused by the many scenes that were filmed in live-action, then rotoscope animated?
