This is a joke right?  Apparently they are bypassing kickstarter this time and going go to releasing the system.  I think this may be more of a mistake than last time.  Who would have known, Coleco is still around.  I thought they died a long time ago.

Combine a Wii U Pro controller with an SNES pad (down to the Start/Select buttons) and you have the Coleco Chameleon controller.

It even looks like an Atari Jaguar too...

So, it's an Atari Jaguar that has a Wii U Pro Controller with SNES buttons, plays 8-bit/16-bit-/32-bit catridges, and is branded by Coleco?

EDIT: This was the prototype controller. Adam called it:

...why are there 2 select/start buttons? and the controller # lights/power button look off center to the right...or the other buttons around them are off centre to the left

That was the prototype controller. This is the actual console/controller:

That second Controller looks so much better. Thought the same about the system, looks just like the Jag which I don't like.  I may buy it depending on the price because I'm a sucker for cartridge and retro games but I liked it so much better as the previous iteration.

I thought they were just using old stock of Jaguar shells that never got stuffed with Jaguar guts and sold.

I believe they're using the original Jaguar moulds, but modified. It's a shame really...

I find this development very interesting. Of course, Coleco is really only a name at this point, much like Atari. But still, having a name that is recognized, and held in some esteem by the target audience, would seem to be the smart play. It keeps the idea of the RetroVGS alive, while perhaps reigning in the "everything but the kitchen sink" aspect that landed them in hot water before, and attaching the Coleco name might help bolster their position somewhat.
