I think it's a nice chiptune soundtrack with several references to classics like Earthbound and Final Fantasy.

Ooh, Shadow the Hedgehog! My favorite guilty-pleasure game.

ANYway, I'll be showing off a few scores in a few days. Until then, I'll show y'all a little something that's sure to grab the attention of a certain sniper-obsessed Hoosier:

Until next time...

 ...'Late
I've got the NES version of that.  Rather nice little gem though tbh, I'd like the snes version more I would think.

...Zagnorch, you realize that the Super NES Miracle Piano is the last one I need, right?  Shocked  Haven't seen one of those in a long time. Congrats on the pickup.
If it has the contents, you can probably sell it to pay for your Security System alone.

I've only run into a couple of loose PC Miracles with no cords.

Nice!  Jackal is one of my favorite NES games, and one of my "go to" titles when I want to game for a few minutes, but don't know what else to play.  I've still never beat it, but I have fun with it nonetheless.

Zagnorch - might I suggest one of those systems with a camera at the doors so you can get motion sense-capable video recording?  Then maybe you'll be able to nail those suckers to the wall with the footage.

Footage is typically only helpful if you know the person and can deal with it without involving the police. Unless it's a very high quality camera  (not affordable for most of us), the footage isn't even admissible as evidence.

Zag, I'm impressed how you stay strong in trying times.

My Christmas was very light on games (though, thanks again to my secret Santa for an awesome care package).  So, I did some cyber-sleuthing and road tripping to pick up some Wii goodies while Gamestop's 3-for-2 deal was in effect.

The haul: The Last Story, Gunblade NYC & LA Machine Guns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Rayman Origins, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and some Wii SD cards (2x 2 gig and 1x 4 gig).

All the games have their manuals, if anyone was wondering.

As may be obvious, I'm going to be taking a deep dive back into the Wii library, including WiiWare titles, while they are available.

I got a hot tip from one of the associates who helped me out in my quest.  She said that the debut of the Switch means that the Wii will soon be flushed from brick-and-mortar Gamestop locations.  So, maybe some deep discounts await on the horizon.

Great Wii pick ups!!! All 6 are great games!

Sonic and the Secret Rings was an unknown entity to me as I picked it up in the store, but reviews were good so I took a chance.  Despite being the cheapest game, I'm most excited for Gunblade.  I used to play it in arcades whenever I found it.  If I can swing it, I may pick up a second copy from an even more distant Gamestop location on my way to a New Year's Eve party.

Hey now,

Really sorry to hear that you were robbed again. That is freaking terrible. Think it was the same punks?

Probably a buncha illegal Canadians who were looking for stuff to pawn to pay for their next maple syrup-freebasing fix, the filth. It's this kinda thing that makes me glad that The_8-Bit_Electoral_College we the UnitedStatesian people voted The_8-Bit_Donald into high office so he can take care of this horrific-yet-polite menace from the Not-So-Great White North. He's really excited about my plan to do drone strikes on random Tim Horton's across Canada (along with a few of the U.S. locations, just to be on the safe side). Needless to say, from January 20th onward, you'd be wise to get your morning joe from Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts.

But if you think that's something, wait 'til you see what we're gonna do to all of the Molson bottling plants!

They will produce nothing but Pabst Blue Ribbon from here on out.

If it has the contents, you can probably sell it to pay for your Security System alone.

Sadly, it was missing the piano-to-SNES link and game cartridge, which were most likely swiped by those no-good, flappy-headed, beady-eyed Canuckleheads again. Fortunately, it wasn't missing something else...  Wink

I do have one, shall we say, coping therapy: hitting the thrifts... albeit with a modified route where I can check back on the house a couple times during a crawl.

Speaking of which:

If you're gonna own a CIB GameCube-compatible DDR dance pad and game, it may as well be one starring Mario.

But wait... what's this I see?

Goddammit, those filthy poutine-munching swine threw these hockey cards in just to rub it in my face some more. You sick, heartless monsters, you! On the upside: I have a (late) Christmas present for WildBil52 now.

But wait, there's more:

Some great thrifts out your way, Zag.  This score reminded me of a recent disappointment of mine.  I saw what I thought was the Playstation release of DDR Disney Mix, but it was the plug and play TV game version.  I still almost bought it, but it was just too pricey.

I'm adding my Secret Santa score post here for those who haven't seen that thread.  Shadow sent a pretty amazing surprise along with my Secret Santa package.  I don't know how many  people were involved in this group effort but let me just say again that I really don't know how to express the gratitude I feel towards this amazing community.

Here is the original Secret Santa score post from Christmas Day:

This was an amazing and unexpected gift and I owe a big thanks to more than one member.

I'll start with my match, Shadow Kisuragi.

As a big fan of the game of hockey, I am always on the lookout for CIB hockey video games and I thought that would be an easy target for my secret santa match so all I asked for was hockey games.  My match identified himself on the package (which was no problem because I run the SS and knew who my match was anyways Wink and did an admirable job providing me with several complete hockey games that I needed.

Interesting side note:  This is actuallythe second copy of NHL 13 that I have received from Shadow.  My first copy of NHL 13 was the steelbox Stanley Cup Edition that I got from him when I visited him in Florida in 2012.  But these hockey games aren't the reason I was shocked when I saw what else was in the package.  Something that has eluded me for years was nestled underneath the hockey games.  If you look closely, you can see it right before my son throws all of the games on the floor.  The video ends a little abruptly, my wife stopped recording by accident.

That's right.  Spider Man Web of Fire is in my possession.  I am now the proud owner of a Complete US 32X set.  From the letter that Ray included (that I left at my parents house today but will add a picture of when I put my hands on it again) it was clear that this was a group effort.  Shadow said in the letter that when some rfgenners found out he was selling his copy of Web of Fire that they should try to go in on it together to help me complete my 32X set.  I have thanked some members individually and I will be reaching out to more of them to express my gratitude as they are reveled to me.  To all of my friends who pitched in let me tell you that I really don't know what to say.  I can't tell you what a thrill it is to complete this set that seems quirky to most but has always held a special place in my gaming heart.  Thank you so very much.

And now, here is a teaser shot.  I'll take more pics of the whole set together over the next week or so.

And now there is just one thing left to do...
