@nupoile, Hey, I forgot to comment on the awesome Blinking Light NES Mod.  Pretty Awesome way to solve the problem and having a region free NES. Hopefully it will come back in stock soon, and then I can pick it up and finally get to play Konami's Noah's Ark.

The instructions look easy enough but how easy was it really to install?

@Fokakis   It's fairly easy to install. If a person was comfortable with opening up a console or PC or the like, it would be pretty simple for them. The NES just uses Philips head screws, so that's easy. Once all the screws are out you just pull out the old tray and connector and put the new ones in. The connector slips onto the board as easy as a game would. The nice thing about this mod is that it is 100% reversible. You can put the old parts back just as easy.

I don't think they are "out of stock" in their store, so much as it's more like they are getting them out to all the Kickstarter backers before they even stock the store. Duke backed it too and he hasn't posted that he's got his yet. We are still in the middle of fulfillment for backers.

The only downside I can see to it is how tough it is to get carts back out once you've put them in. So far pinching the edges and wiggling a little is what works. It isn't super tough but I doubt a child could get a game back out. Over time though it should loosen up a little, I'm guessing.

An upside though is it's making me want to play the NES more!

Not too shabby. The punisher plays like the NES one.
And I never played Mario Party ds so we will see if I keep it or not.

Monster Party has one of the more interesting stories around its original release, as it was originally called Monster Party: Parody World. An interesting write-up of the prototype is here:

Some pretty nice scores in there. M.A.D. was one of my favorite games as a kid. It has a really fun 2 player mode. Can't go wrong with Joust and some Activision titles.

Man, that is awesome.  I wish they could have kept the Movie Monsters intact.  That sounded great. A gremlin!

My advice to you is to rip that Ys soundtrack right now.

I had a GREAT shopping day out yesterday! Here are my GameCube Goodwill finds:

And between 2 Goodwill locations, here are my original PlayStation finds:

All but the NES cart are Goodwill finds, but the NES game came from a new game shop in my area:

And here's my BIG score, a large stack of Game Boy manuals I got from the new game shop!
