The LotR game also had this oversized French manual with it, stuffed inside, hence why it's all bent up. Not sure what the reason for the larger size is, but I thought it was a neat find:

Likely was a Canadian release. It's common to shove French manuals in with the US releases and distribute them in Canada.

when they're oversized and don't fit inside without damage, it's most likely that it was sold outside the case itself under the shrinkwrap. i've seen that quite often, i'll never understand why they aren't made to a size that fits in the case.

Picked these up in a trade:

Got this at Half Price Books and I'm surprised, it's not in the system!

First post in awhile, but I picked up some guides last week for .29 each.

Also, I picked up a couple lots of Atari 5200 games for pretty good prices.  Got some duplicates in the lots, which I am going to trade or sell to pick up more Atari 5200 games. With this lot, I only have 26 games left to get.  Although Bounty Bob Strikes Back might be an impossibility. Pretty happy to have picked up "Baseball" CIB, it seems to be hard to find in box.  Oh yeah and that Decathlon box has a pretty awesome gatefold cover, which was not common for a console game box to have that at that time.

I might try to do blog series dedicated to the the Atari 5200 and each game.  Of course I need a working controller, Y- Cable, or the Masterplay in order to do it. All of my 5200 controllers have gone out on me. I think as soon as I find a way to play each game, I will start reviewing the games and system.

Sweet TV score, russlyman!

The LotR game also had this oversized French manual with it, stuffed inside, hence why it's all bent up. Not sure what the reason for the larger size is, but I thought it was a neat find:

Likely was a Canadian release. It's common to shove French manuals in with the US releases and distribute them in Canada.

That was what I wondered too, if it was just shrinkwrapped behind or in front of the case.  Doesn't make much sense to me either.  I can put a heavy book on top of it to flatten it out, and then just put it in with the rest of my loose manuals, but it seems silly to make the French language manual larger like that.  Wouldn't French-speaking Canadians want to be able to put the manual inside the case like anyone else?

FairLight print signed by Strider (No.1) and Black Shadow (Sir Galahad)

For a guy who had an Amiga as a kid, this is just awesome! Shocked

FairLight (FLT) are probably one of the best known demo and cracking groups out there.
Strider and Black Shadow started it all in 1987 on the C64 scene before jumping onto the Amiga and PC.

Here are some of the groups intros.

Sidmon 2 1990 Amiga

Warzone 1991 Amiga

History Line 1993 Amiga

Turbo Trax 1995 Amiga

Picked these up from Lukie Games, $26:

Got these off of Shadow:

Did you know the manual actually had the "secret" listed in it?  First thing in the manual.  I never knew the SMS came with an AV cable and that the SMS gamepad could have a stick inserted in the middle of it.  The control sticks actually came with the system!  They must have done away with these at some point because I checked two of my gamepads and neither one had the covers or hole for the stick to screw into.
