Displaying GB-carts?
«

Just as the title says. I have some GB-only carts but I don't have any good idea for them to be displayed in my shelf. As they don't have any end labels it just looks weird.
Anyone have any nice solutions or ideas in this? What do you do with your GB-carts? (or other cartridges without end labels for that matter)

I've seen some people use those label makers for this purpose... helped to identify N64 games and atari games that have the end label missing.. might be able to find one with a thin enough label roll...

NoiseRedux did an article on this a while back and has a shelf that looks really nice with them:
http://www.rfgeneration.c...-Display-Shelves-1391.php
it probably wouldn't be overly difficult to build your own shelf with similar dimensions.
this is also a thing apparently, though i don't know how common or rare it is:

I use one of these kitchen utensil trays to hold my GB carts. Probably not the most elegant solution, but it works and is better than just tossing them in a box.

It's funny you mention this. I'm making some pocket sleeves to go in binders so I can store my VMU memory cards for my Dreamcast. I've tried different things like wooden boxes and tooboxes. The ends are rounded so they don't stand up well, and the buttons make the surface uneven, so they also don't stack well. I will show pics when my project is finished.

Damn, I might have to try that. That's a great idea!

Result:
I made four of these sleeves, which fills a 3" binder and holds 48 VMUs. I think it's handy not stuffing them in a box.

Unfortunately, due to my relatively small house, and no dedicated game room, I'm relegated to storing my GB carts like this:

I like the narrow shelf idea, for when I get the space, however!

I made a few of these trays maybe a year ago, each holds 34 GB games or maybe 28 Color games, not that there are even 28 Color games worth having. The top bar looks "crooked" but it's an illusion. It's actually the bottom bar that is "crooked" and it is done so that the games lay back slightly if the tray isn't full, preventing games from falling over forwards and sliding out.

Also any ideas for game gear items or same ideas apply here shaggys would work for game gear games in my room but I'm mulling over the baseball card page idea . Alot like taht home made vmu page idea which I would like to hear more on

Wow very good idea! I see these things everywhere and never once thought to try this. Looks like I'll be making a trip to the thrift store today.

Yeah, it has served me well since i started using it. I can't take credit for the idea though. I saw it on some other website, although I don't remember where.
