Well.... another sucky thing about the Anniversary collection is that you cannot start another Megaman game until you finish the one you are on.  I'm on Wiley's castle on 2 and didn't have much time so i figured that I would start 3.  Nope, can't do it!   grrr

I'm not afraid to admit I'm abusing the save feature on Mega Man 2, especially in Wily's Castle. I'm stuck on the 4th area boss, the room with the wall cannon things and all the pillars you have to break. I always run out of Crash Missiles before I can take out the last cannon, even if I avoid hitting a couple of the pillars. Not quite sure what to do...

What are you playing on?

I was planning on playing via the Anniversary Collection, but I'm actually playing it on my Wii.

Which console? I have the GC version, and I don't recall it ever doing that...

Starting Mega Man 3 tonight.  I always have way more difficulty with this one than I do with MM2.

Just finished Mega Man 2:

That boss Rush is brutal, even with the energy balls after each boss, and Wily's alien form sure does take finding a rhythm to really get past unscathed. Glad to have finally completed this one. I hope to go back and do it in one sitting at some point!

That's normal. MM2 is the easiest of the 6 NES games. MM3 is kinda tough in some areas.

QFT!  I kinda blew through MM2, mostly because I've always had trouble with the lasers in the Quick Man stage, and wanted to finally get to Wily's Castle and take it out quickly to have it under my belt.  I want to take my time with MM3, because I never beat it legitimately as a child.  A friend and I beat it one weekend at his house, but we used that cheat where if you hold buttons down on the 2nd controller, Mega Man can do insane jumps.  I look forward to finally sitting down and conquering this one the right way, as it's my favorite in the series.

Since I've already finished MM 2 & 3, I recently started up the original.  I beat all of the stages, and played through the first part of the Wiley stage, only to be greeted by a boss that made short work of me.  Looks like they recycled that boss for MM3, but he was way harder in this game (at least based on the one try I had against him).

I gotta say, if anybody has the opportunity to sit and play these games side by side with a friend, I highly recommend it.  I had a friend over while playing the original MM, and we would swap the controller back and forth every time we died.  It was a lot of fun playing this way, and made the game way less frustrating than playing alone, at least it did for me.

Would that boss happen to be the Yellow Devil? You can use the Elec Beam, and if you feel cheeky, you can pause and unpause and it'll hit multiple times.

Yeah, that's the one.  I'll give the Electric Beam a try.

Just throwing it out there - I really like the music for Shadow Man, Needle Man, Magnet Man and Gemini Man.

The soundtracks really drive these games. They add a ton of excitement in my opinion.

@russlyman - jealous!  That's a nice looking repro, where'd you get it from?

@JerryGreenwood - yes!  Snake Man is awesome, too!  I really like the music from MM3, it's one of my favorite soundtracks.
