It's interesting to see Google get into this space, but I don't see how this product differentiates itself from the Amazon Fire TV or even the OUYA to a degree. Perhaps Google can grow Android into a gaming platform, but it's going to need some killer apps to get me interested.

I thought the google TV plug thing was interesting too until someone told me all it did was load apps that you had to carry subscriptions for anyways.
My blu-ray player already does that... Almost every thing already does that....
Anyways back on topic...

Whoever is making those controls must be making a killing every time some company comes along and needs a quick cheap gamepad for their new device.

I have a Chromecast, which I kind of like, but the lack of a remote and dedicated apps is a bit irksome, so if this set-top functions more like a Roku, where the remote will interact with apps already on the device, AND give me access to some Android gaming, then it might be worth looking into, but only if the $99 price tag means it can compete with Roku in terms of apps being available ON the device. I like my Chromecast, but it has its limitations. I only went with that versus a Roku 3 for my other TV because of the cost.
