Fun, but difficult at the same time. The final bosses really ramp up the difficulty.

I beat it as a kid and wouldn't mind a revisit at some point. A bit of a hidden gem for those who don't collect for the NES.

In re: Pokemon - Shawn, if you are willing to switch sides with me for a month, you can run a retro Pokemon playthrough. I know it's popular with members, so that would be a good choice for playthrough one month. The Pokemon (pronounced "Poke-E-Man" by my local flea market vendors) craze hit when I was in college and it was a little past my time. I don't collect it and I'm not interested in purchasing a cart for a playthrough. However, I fully support a playthrough and would make accomidations to help see on played. Cheesy

As of now I don't own physical copies of any of the GB/GBC/GBA Pokemon titles, but when I have time I'm going to fool around with some emulation on my DS (because I want to play Shining Force mainly), so I may be able to do that. It's up to the rest of the crew too, but I can certainly go with the flow, as I have mentioned before Pokemon is a series I've been wanting to at least try for quite some time now.

As I alluded to before, expect a certain, affordable and classic, beat 'em up series to be announced at that time.
Well now I'm gunna start guessing!

We already did Streets of Rage.
Final Fight is out because those are expensive.
Golden Axe would be great, but I think the 3rd game is expensive and rare.
Ninja Gaiden isn't a beat-em up.

I know it! Bad Dudes.

Golden Axe 3 was not released in the states, right?!

I wouldn't say it wasn't released in the states. It's available on PS2 and PSP in Sega Genesis Collection, Xbox 360 and PS3 in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, and the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. The original format's not available in the states.

Whoops! I had no idea. I've played it on the Sonic's Collection and it was a popular franchise so I just figured it was. No wonder why I couldn't find it on eBay.

It was only available on the Sega Channel, so there was never a physical Golden Axe III cart released in North America.

It was a bit hard at times but I did beat it.  Great game and at the time it was something that wasn't done before.  A definite hidden gem.

Little Nemo the Dreammaster is a great one that we should do.
One of my biggest gaming regrets as a kid. I had a choice between that and WWF Wrestlemania. I choose Wrestlemania  Sad

I still haven't played Little Nemo to this day, but I'd like to.

Just a heads up, we are currently voting on our August playthrough between Star Tropics and Little Nemo. I know there was mention of these games on here, so if you have not voted, please do so. The poll will be up for 2 weeks. http://www.rfgeneration.c...x.php?topic=15640.new#new

I recently got hooked on these games, so I figured I'd nominate them.

Rolling Thunder (NES), Rolling Thunder 2 (Genesis/Mega Drive), Rolling Thunder 3 (Genesis).

I stuck with the home ports, despite the fact the arcade versions have been ported to the home  in the past.  The real challenge with these games will be playing them for a month without damaging consoles or controllers out of frustration.
