I'd rank all the golf game different than all 3 of you guys did, lol.

1. NEO Turf Masters
2. Mario Golf Toadstool Tour
3. Hot Shots Golf Fore!

And that is largely due to how we approached them for this event. By playing each game with default settings and just focusing on one course Turf Masters is the only one that felt to me like we were getting the experience the game meant for us to get and I loved it. Yeah it was a bit tougher than the others, but I dig that arcade style cheapness on a few of the courses.

Mario Golf and Hot Shots played quite similar, but like Douglie and Banana mentioned the music/style of the game just isn't as appealing as some good old classic Mario so that's why I give Mario Golf the edge. Now if we were digging into all of these games deeper I'd have a vastly different list. I'm quite intrigued by the progression system that was teased in Hot Shots were every shot I made was giving me or subtracting away from a total experience point pool. That's a really cool idea that makes every shot feel a bit more valuable to your overall experience. I'd be up to explore the game more in the future.....on mute though.

I can't believe Batman didn't make anyone's top 5 for the year!! I loved it so much. Pretty pleased with all the Dynamite Cop love though. I had so much fun with both of those games too, but Dynamite Cop especially. I missed out on the first part of the year, but hearing all 3 of you praise Oxenfree has piqued my interest. I had the same initial impression as Douglie and just wrote it off completely as something I likely wouldnt be interested in. I've even had the opportunity to buy it and passed without thinking twice about it. Definitely gonna have to try it out now though.

Thanks for all the great games/experiences/podcasts/discussions last year! Really pumped to keep journeying with you guys through 2019 and beyond too!

PS - I'd better stop teasing Rich so much or he might put me through a window.......

Thanks for listening and for the kind words Crabby!  I completely agree that Hot Shots becomes a much better experience as you unlock more characters and gear throughout the game. Unfortunately, we were a bit limited in regards to character and course options because we wanted to keep a level playing field, which I know all of you understand. As I mentioned on the show, what it really comes down to me is putting. I feel like Mario Golf makes it tough to read putts and the power meter is not very lenient.  With Hot Shots, there is quite a bit of give when it comes to putting; it's harder to over putt and under putt, and there is more than one path that can lead you to the hole (i.e. goes in the majority of the time you get it near the cup, lip, side door, etc.). With putts counting just as many strokes as shots, this is an important feature in every golf game I play. If the putting is bad, I'll sell it or shelve it.

Thanks for playing along with us more this year man and hope to see you on our playthrough forums in 2019. Smiley

With Lunar Knights and Bayonetta both starting off 2019 I'm pretty eager to see what else you guys have cooking for us for the other 10 months.
