It's been almost 3 months since I ended the Treasure Hunt Chronicles series for the 2008 season. And I honestly wasn't expecting to start the 2009 season so soon, but I feel it's time to get it going. And no, garage sale season has not started yet, I'm not that lucky, there's still more than a foot of snow on the ground. I haven't bought much since November, but I have received quite a lot of stuff through trading, and that will be the focus of this post.
So without further ado, the stuff I've received the last couple months.
Oh, and thanks to Dave, I've tweaked the formatting a little. It's probably nothing any one will notice, but the coding is much more simple for me.
I got these all in a trade through here from Mezmoron. All NES games I needed for duplicate SNES and Genesis games.
This wonderful stuff came from RFG member SnowKitty. It's not as good as it first appears as none of those boxes have the games/systems that go in them, but I already had that stuff, so everything except Starfox is now complete.
This mix of stuff I got from a Digital Press member in exchange for a pair of N64 games. Nothing really special, just stuff I didn't have.
These are from two separate trades on Digital Press, the really funny thing about these is that I made the deals one day apart, and both are from the same city. And to top off the strange meter, I traded a DKC2 to both of them. I'm really excited to get Claymates, I've been looking for it for way too long.
This stuff was from this past Friday's Goodwill trip. I saw the Genesis game last week, but didn't want to spend $2 on it, so I waited until 1/2 off day. I just happened to spot the code book, it was 1/2 of $0.75, so I couldn't resist.
This was from a thrift on the same day as the Goodwill find, they have a few PS1 and DC games and they are fairly randomly priced at $2-7 each. This one was $3, I didn't know if it was worth anything, but I figured it was worth a buy for $3.
Some other stuff I got in trades so far this year included a large lot of primarily NES and SNES games from Logical123. And another lot of assorted games from another DP member.
Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking and didn't take any pictures of that stuff.
I'm also starting something a little new this year. I'm going to include a few of the statistics that I keep track of in my collection. First, I will give the unique number of games, total number of games and the number of duplicates I own. Then I'll describe how those have changed since the last entry in the Treasure Hunt Chronicles series. Finally, I'll keep a tally of how much I have spent and how much I've sold since the last entry and total for the year. Hopefully, some of you will enjoy these stats
So, as of now I have 1,917 total games, 1,538 unique games, and 379 duplicates. I have added 60 games and sold 65 duplicates so I actually have 5 less games now than I had since I posted my
End of year collection stats. At first that may seem like a bad thing, but considering I traded away games I didn't want any more in exchange for games I did need, I'd say it's a good thing.
So far, I've only spent $4.65 this year, but I spent $23.96 to ship stuff for trades and I brought in $137.40 from selling stuff, so I'm actually ahead $108.79 so far this year. I would love to stay ahead all year (especially since I got my hours cut in half at work), but I really doubt that will happen.
Dragon Spirit is a rad game, and I seem to remember Bass Masters Classic being fun when I played it way back when.

3$s doesn't seem bad at all for the PSX game. Congrats on completing some more stuff. Do you have a list on the site of games that you need boxes/manuals for?
|
dude u need to make a list of nes games you need and PM me it. I find and passs up NES games all the time.

@Izret101: & @Moriya Hanzo: My collection list here is always up to date, so if it's not listed there, I don't have it and therefore am interested in obtaining it.
@Izret101: I figured it was worth a buy for $3, I was just a little hesitant because it's above the normal $2 price thrifts usually charge and PS1 games seem to be so hit and miss for value.

Nice. I've always wanted to play Super Metroid, but never got around to it.
|
I like the new layout, it's cleaner!
|
@NES_Rules: Well your wishlist only has the NWC carts in it :-P
I'll do a quick check to see if any of the games in your collection needs anything i have.
|
@Izret101: Never mind it looks like my boxes/manuals part of my collection is in great need of updating....
|
@Izret101: I updated my Wishlist to include all the NES stuff I need, took me over an hour Makes me realize how few CIB NES games I have. It would probably be easier for both of us to just see what I do have instead of what I don't have.
