Well, it's been over a month since my last entry in the Treasure Hunt Chronicles, and I blame that solely on the weather. There just are not any garage sales or flea markets in the
frozen tundra Northeast Ohio this time of year. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it's in the 50's today and 60's the next couple days so garage sale season will be here before we know it. Luckily, until then though, I've still got some awesome treasure through some online trading I did through RFGen, Digital Press and GameTZ. So that will be the focus of February's finds.
My first treasure of the month was actually from a retail store (a huge irregularity for me, if you haven't noticed by now) but I think it is still considered a treasure.
Brand new copy of Elebits from the clearance sale Sears was having at the time. There was supposedly many more games on sale (some for under $5) but this was the only good thing left at my local store. Came out to be $10.62 with tax.
Ahh, free stuff, I love free stuff. This lot of 19 original 72 pin connectors was posted on DP for the price of shipping, so I had to take it. I haven't done anything with them yet, but I plan on fixing them up as I do with the NES systems I sell and then selling them for a couple bucks a piece.
If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll reserve you one.
I actually just got this stuff today, which is why I'm just now posting this entry today, but I shipped my end of the trade in February (NEVER use Parcel Post for stuff that goes across the Mississippi, it takes way too long) and thus paid the shipping for it February so I'm including it in with February's treasures.
Anyway, most of it isn't complete, Mortal Kombat and Wizards & Warriors are complete; Illusion of Gaia and Bad News Baseball are box only and the other stuff is just the game and box. I traded some loose NES and SNES games for that lot.
This huge lot of Genesis games was from RFGen member, Barracuda. All but two of those games are CIB and all are in very nice condition. Don't be afraid to buy anything he sells.
I traded a SNES system and some games to get that lot.
These came from another GameTZ trade, a loose Super Mario All-Stars got me those three NES games.
That's all for February, I'll probably have a few more online trades for March and if I'm lucky the weather will stay nice enough long enough for a couple garage sales to pop up.
After February's treasures, I have 1,936 total games, 1,558 unique games, and 378 duplicates. Which means I have 19 more total games, 20 more unique games, and 1 less duplicate since my last post. So my plan of turning duplicates into unique games seems to be working.
So far, I've only spent $15.27 this year ($10.62 this month), but I spent $28.99 this month to ship stuff for trades and I brought in $0.00 from selling stuff, so I'm still ahead $69.18 so far this year. The total spent (amount actually spent on games plus amount spent of shipping) this year, is $68.22.
