A spectacular weekend this turned out to be. I got a ton of games and the vast majority of them were for my favorite system to collect for, the NES. This weekend was a very busy one for me, I had a different party to go to for each of the 3 days this holiday weekend. The one from Sunday left me impaired Monday which is why I'm just now getting around to posting this.
This was from one of the few sales I bought anything from on Friday. I paid $4 for it, which is more than I like paying for a loose NES game covered with stickers (miraculously, the stickers on the label came off with minimal damage) but my DP guide listed it as an R6, so I figured this might be the only one I'd ever see in the wild, so I bought it. The funny thing about this sale was the prices on the other games he had. First he had a yellowed NES for $70 and an even more yellowed SNES also for $70. The games were all individually priced. The games he had by the systems were all commons, except Mega Man 2-5 (MM5 was like $150, MM2 was the cheapest at $20) and then on another table he had more SNES games like Chrono Trigger for $80, Super Mario RPG for $90. I actually laughed out loud when I saw the prices on the games. I'm not sure why Pac-Mania was reasonably priced, I'm assuming he meant to put $40 on it, but forgot the zero.
These were the only other things I bought on Friday. The loose NES games and PS1 games were in a box marked $3 each, the RF switch was in another box for a dime. I was going to get just the PS1 games (both for $5) but then I noticed the FunPak 64 box, and looked inside to see it stuffed with NES game boxes. And behind it was another box with more NES game boxes and some N64 game boxes. So I told the lady the boxes were empty and she said "Oh, I guess I'd better just throw them out then" I told her I would save her the trouble and just take them, she looked at me kind of funny as if to say "why on Earth would you want old boxes?" I then went through the box of loose NES games and picked out the ones that had the boxes and were ones I didn't have and ended up getting everything for $10. I went back to the sale on Saturday to see if she found more games, but most of the games I left were gone and there was a boxed PS1 for $5 I left, but no new games.
These were the only things I found at a neighborhood wide sale on Saturday. 28 houses of nothing but these games. One house had a nice Dreamcast set up with a dozen or so games but it was $50 and they had PS1 setup with 20 or so commons for $30, which would have been a good deal if I didn't already have most of the games. So I passed on those. The N64 games were in a baggie marked $1, so I didn't bother haggling and bought them. I didn't have a chance to clean them up yet, but they should be nice when I'm done.
This sale had a dozen or so PS2 games marked $2 each, but the other games were ones I had or were bad games, so this was the only one I bought. I've been wanting it since it came out and this was the first time I've seen it for a good price, so I had to buy it. It's CIB, including the map.
These plushes came from a sale we almost didn't go to (it was unadvertised and on a bad side of town), but we stopped anyway since it was on our way home. The DK was $0.50 the Pac-Men were $0.25 each. The DK measures about 18 inches.
This is one thing I've wanted for a long time, but never thought I would find (I seem to be saying that a lot this year, and I'm loving it ). Anyway, it was in a box of junk that was marked $0.25 each. I checked the battery compartment to check for corrosion and found it to be in great shape (battery cover door is there as well) so I gave her the quarter for it.
Yes, that makes 5 Vic-20's in less than a week. This was at a sale advertised as "lots of new craft materials" that we only stopped at because it was on the way between sales. I saw the Vic on the ground with $50 written on the back of the box, then I open it to see $40,000 written on it and then realize the whole box is covered with random prices. I would have left it because I've already got my share of them, but this one had some games, so I asked for a price on it. She said $2, so I gave it to her and left. My dad managed to find a couple of tools there as well, so we both walked away happy and surprised from that one.
These came from my regular trading partner, but I forgot to bring something for him so I had to pay for these ones. He said 2 of them were $5 (I forget which 2) and the others he would just give to me. So it was basically $2 each, and I thought was fair since I needed all of them and three of them are R4's and one is an R5.
And now, for my favorite deal of the weekend.
The first time I went by this guy's stand he had 15 CIB NES games in a box for $3 each. So I looked through them and they were all commons that I had loose copies of, so I offered $20 for them all. He thought about it for a little bit and I was about to counter with $30, when he said $25. So I agreed and then he said his wife was going to the car to get more of them and said I should stop back. So I finished the last row of the flea market and headed back to the guy. When I got there, sure enough there was another box of 15 CIB NES games waiting for me. These were the same type as last box so I got them for another $25. After I paid him, he pulled out another box, this one had 28 games in it. I paid him another $30 for the remaining box. So, that was a total of 58 CIB NES games for $80. I can't figure out where these came from though, for the most part, the boxes are minty, but all the games and boxes have a sticker on them with corresponding numbers. I thought maybe they were rentals, but the boxes are much too nice of shape for that and there are no duplicates. Some of the games also have their UPC barcodes cut out of them and none of them had the styrofoam spacer in them. Since I already had all but a few of these games loose already, loose copies for most of these will be for sale, so if there are any that you need, PM me about them and we can work something out.
These came from a trade with someone on GameTZ, at the time, I needed all 4 of them. But since then I got the CIB copy of Bases Loaded, so this one is for sale. I traded a loose DKC and the box for NBA Jam TE for these.
