Well, this week I didn't go out at all, there were a total of 3 garage sales listed for the entire area, and they all looked crappy from their descriptions or were perpetual sales that I've been to already. But, luckily, I've got treasure from last week I didn't have a chance to post, so that's what I'll show you now.
This large lot of TI-99/4A stuff came from a thrift I go to every Friday, but rarely get anything from (I actually thought about starting to skip it), until I found this. The games and system are nothing special, the TI-99/4A and several commons, but the reason I bought it was because of the paperwork with it. There are several old newspaper ads for TI computer stuff, a few old computer magazines from the early 80's, a bunch of miscellaneous stuff dealing with TI computers, a stack of game and programming manuals, and even a newsletter from a TI-99 programming club that was active back then. It's really nothing that's worth a lot monetarily, but to me it's worth a lot as a primary source of information. I paid $26.69 after tax for it all.
This made my day while garage saling, not only because it was the only thing I bought all day, but because of the sheer number of games. About 2/3 of the games are CIB, the other are missing the manuals. Unfortunately, that PS3 case (Dynasty Warriors Gundam) had a PS1 game in it (Gundam Battle Assault 2), it was the only game that had a Used sticker on it, so I think GameStop may have put that PS1 game in there by mistake when they sold it. The place I bought these from were an old couple, so I'm thinking some kids were very upset the next time they visit grandma and grandpa and found out they sold all their games . They were originally asking $2 per game and the Xbox and PS3 controller were $0.50, so I picked out what games I really wanted (about 18, which was about half of everything) and then offered $30 for everything. My offer was taken, and I walked out very happy. The best part is there are only 2 duplicates from what I already had, so that's always nice. By the way, Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Spiderman (both Xbox and CIB) and the PS3 game case are all for sale.
After last week's treasures, I have 1,983 total games, 1,608 unique games, and 375 duplicates. Which means I have 37 more total games, 35 more unique games, and 2 more duplicates since my last post. So far, I've spent $82.86 this year ($56.69 this week), and I spent $0.00 this week to ship stuff for trades and I brought in $42.33 from selling stuff, so I'm still ahead $72.49 so far this year. The total spent (amount actually spent on games plus amount spent on shipping) this year, is $161.45 To sum up this year's stats, I have 61 more total games, 130 more unique games, and 69 less duplicates. And I am ahead $72.49.

Nice TI score!!!

Excellent pick ups.
I think whats most awesome is that you still have more games but still have an excellent profit.

@Izret101: It's an amazing feeling to be buying games with money that I got from selling other games. It feels like getting free games. But a lot of the stuff I'm selling now is from 1-3 years ago, so I paid for it then and am selling it now, so for this year it may be profit, but overall, it's not as much. In other words, if I bought something for $5 two years ago and sold it this year for $10, it's really only $5 profit, but $10 profit for just this year.

nice haul as always!

Nice games!

@NES_Rules: Yes but if your able to keep it up your bound to have an overall profit. Having a self sustaining hobby/collection is always awesome.

Nice article. I think you might need to close a center text tag in your HTML code since it is carrying over throughout everyone else's articles that are not using HTML (including Titles, Comments, etc.).

@Marriott_Guy: Hmm, I didn't spot any missing, but I added an extra one on the end to be sure. I also added a break, so the whole thing isn't on the front page like I usually do but forgot to do this time.

Nice score. It's always nice to pick up games for less than 2 bucks a piece.

Wow! Nice TI find. I love the old nostalgic stuff. Especially original receipts with the original price. Man, some of the original prices on some of these things shocks me nowadays.
|
@NES_Rules: If you don't mind me asking where do you do most of the selling of your games?
|
@raptor94k: I do the vast majority of my sales through the forums at this site, the forums at Digital Press, and at GameTZ.com. I also do the occasional sale at ChaseTheChuckwagon.com.
