This week was full of garage sales. On Friday we went to around 6 neighborhood/street sales in addition to a ton of regular garage sales. It took until 2:00 before we ran out of sales to go to in the area. Saturday was very much the same thing, but it started to rain about 1:00 and we didn't bring umbrellas with us, so we called it quits a little early. Despite the fantastic amount of sales, I didn't find much. It was better than the last couple weeks, but it still wasn't a great weekend. Before I get into what gaming related stuff I bought, I thought I would describe a great deal I got that isn't gaming related at all. That deal was a new bike I got. I've been looking for a good road bike for sometime now, and finally found a nice Schwinn at a sale this weekend for $20. It looks nearly new and has a really cushy, wide seat on it which is always great for those long rides. Plus, it has narrower tires than my last bike, but they're wider than something like a racing bike which is exactly what I wanted and the way it's positioned you sit more straight up than bent over so I don't have to worry about my back hurting the next day after a long ride and it has a fold up saddle bag type thing on the back so I can put stuff in it if I need to. Now, I just need to find the time to ride it and I'll be set. Now, onto the gaming related treasures.
This was one of the things I bought Friday. The guy had a couple more 360 games but they were either higher priced or were sports games. This one was marked $6 (cheaper than the res of the good titles), so I opened it up to check the disc and found the disc missing. I assumed that was why it was cheaper and put the case back down. But then the guy said he has the discs separate. So I took the case over to him, checked out the disc and talked to him a little bit about the game (I wasn't sure if it was a Live game only or not) and offered $5 for it. I would have normally offered less, but the guy seemed nice and was obviously a gamer, so I didn't try to lowball him anymore.
This was the other item I bought at the flea market. It was marked $2, so I offered $1 to a girl there, which she happily accepted. The price sticker had "Nick" written on it and she didn't really look like a Nick, so I think it was her brother's which is the main reason she let me have it for half price.
This was my sole purchase from the dozens of garage sales I went to on Saturday. They had probably 30 or so PS2 and Xbox games, all marked differently. Anywhere from $3-15, this was the only one that I wanted that wasn't a Greatest/Platinum Hits version. It was marked $5 and that's what I paid for it. It's a little more than I wanted to pay for it, but the day was so slow, I had to buy something.
This was my first purchase for the day at the flea market. These games were all taped together in a bundle (luckily the ones on the end were facing in and didn't have the stick back label so they didn't get damaged by the tape) marked $1. I didn't even bother offering lower because the woman was really nice and they were already ridiculously cheap. The best part is that I actually needed half of them (FF2, SMA/SMW, and WoF). They're dirty and have some stickers, but they should all come clean.
Another nice deal from the flea market. This guy had a stack of PS1 games, a stack of PS2 games and a stack of 360 games. The PS1 games were all $2 each, PS2 were $5 and 360 games were $7. Unfortunately, none of the PS2 or 360 games were any good, so these were the only things I bought. I asked if he would take $5 for three of them, hesaid he would, so I picked these ones out. FF Anthology and X-Files are ones I already had, but my copy of X-Files is loose and I'm tired of having 4 discs in slim jewel cases so I got this to replace them. FFA will probably be up for sale once I see of it's in any better shape than my current copy.
