I’ve seen this on another site, and I thought it could be fun. Basically, this little feature will be a “learn about the people behind RF Generation”, provided I can convince other staff members to do it. Basically, there are a bunch of standard questions, and if you want a question answered, ask it. Provided it isn’t perverse, I’ll answer it. Let me start off my introducing what I do here, and you can find out all you want to know about me after the jump.
Well, my name is David. I happen to be the Site Director of RF Generation. Coupled with the rest of the directorship, we are responsible for the well being of the site and its continued operation. I tend to deal with the big picture on things, and make sure that the site overall is always moving in the right direction. I try, I really do. In addition to being the Site Director, I do a lot of other things. I am also the PHP programmer, and I’ve coded every file that ends in .php that is not the forum. That makes me responsible for things like the submissions system, staff pages, and blogs, amongst many, many other things. I also like to write for the blog, when I have the time. Oh and yeah, I designed the current layout of the site. I registered here way back at the end of June in 2004, and look where I am now. If you told me back then that I’d be the Site Director, I would have laughed at you, but… it’s strange and sad how I ended up in the position I take here today.

1. Do you have pets?Family has a dog back in Cincinnati. A Yorkshire Terrier, and she’s precious.

3. What kind of music do you like?Lots of types, especially Indie Rock, Techno, and Classic rock, and definitely not Rap, Hip Hop or Country.
4. What do you do on your free time besides spending time on RFG?I work as a traffic engineer, happily working on customer concerns.
5. What are your goals/dreams in life?Be happy.
6. What got you involved in RFG?It’s a long story. I wasn’t originally a staff member, but something where I would write weekly features periodically. I coined the term pseudostaff to describe my role at RFG. Everything changed on
February 1, 2006. Since that fateful day, I’ve been in a more involved capacity with RF Generation, doing my part to ensure its survival. It started with general staff stuff, but then I learned PHP to help my friend with the mySQL switch, and then I decided to code a submissions system, hardware database, stats, watermark script…. Oh sorry, I got sidetracked. But yeah, over time, I got to where I am today, being the person ultimately responsible for the well being of the site.
7. Who do you admire? Why?My traffic professor. He helped me greatly make the bridge from student to practicing engineer.
8. Are you into sports? If so which ones?Yes, Baseball, Football, Soccer, and Hockey. I Used to play Baseball and Soccer. Soccer, especially Indoor Soccer, is so much damn fun to play.

16. Do you play computer games? If so which ones?I used to play computer games. Big fan of RollerCoaster Tycoon and SimCity. Got to love the SimCity 4 Rush Hour expansion pack.
17. Do you play video game consoles? Which ones?Yes, of course I do. I have a Wii and PS2 in my Apartment. At home in Cincinnati we have every other Nintendo Console released in the US.
18. Do you collect?Nope, I am a gamer at heart, I collect to game, which is why my collection is tiny.

20. How many languages do you speak? Which ones?I speak English natively. I took three years of French and High School, and used to be rather proficient in French. Not anymore… Also, I can speak very little German.

35. How many hours a day do you spend on RFG? Depends on the day, but since we switched to SMF I’ve been on the site for 44 and a half days. So, I’d say 2-12 hours. I love coding!
