Our annual donation drive starts today! Be sure to hit that donation button and show this great site some love. And don't forget, for every $10 you donate, you will receive a ticket for this year's raffle!
Keep in mind that RF Generation is a free, no advertising or pop-ups, not-for-profit site. All database contributions come from member submissions and our unpaid staff works hard to update and improve database content, keep front page articles fresh and informative, and produce podcasts for your listening pleasure. Unfortunately, the costs associated with running and maintaining this site are not free (...or cheap) and we need YOUR help to keep our site moving forward into 2018. All donations will go directly to our server and site improvement account. This year our goal is to raise at least $1500 by the end of February. I will provide updates on the front page throughout the month to help monitor how close we are to obtaining our goal and will also thank all donors by name for their contributions (donation amounts will be kept private).
The third week of this year's fund drive was outstanding and has us so close to our $1000 goal!!! With only 10 more days left in the month of December, we are definitely on pace to make this happen. If you haven't donated and can, please take into consideration what a valuable service that this site provides. Even a few bucks means a lot and will get us that much closer to our goal. Also consider that every $10 you donate earns you a ticket to this years prize raffle, which will be drawn at the conclusion of the fund drive and donating at least $20 also gets you a copy of the Playcast's Episode #0, which includes discussions of Parasite Eve and Kingdom Hearts (more info and prize lots listed here: http://www.rfgeneration.c...m/index.php?topic=14799.0).
At this time, the staff at RF Generation would like to thank those who donated during the third week of the fund drive:

So, we made it. Our last episode of 2010 is here! We decided to do a little year in review episode complete with awards just as meaningful as the Spike VGAs! We have a little discussion and each of us has our viewpoint (as usual), but we also want your input on what you thought of this year in gaming! We didn't go the normal route of "Best game of the year", but once you check out our categories, we'd love to hear what you think about things. Did you agree? Disagree? Were we way off? Or do you have something else entirely that you think fits?

As always, we're happy to hear from you guys about topics, questions, comments, suggestions, etc. either here in the blog comments or in the RF Generation Podcast thread found here: http://www.rfgeneration.c...m/index.php?topic=10730.0
I just posted episode 1 of the RF Generation podcast minutes ago. Give it a listen and tell us what you thought! Your feature requests, show topic ideas, and just plain comments about our initial go are also welcome!
Ideas are interesting. For those who don't frequent the chat, I at one point made a YouTube video highlighting a portion of my collection that was kept in storage to show just how much was missing from my online collection. Fairly soon after that, logical123 posted a forum post of a video that he put on YouTube showcasing his collection and his setup. That's when I realized that I don't necessarily think that I can fully express myself with text like I can with my words.
Announcing the RF Generation podcast!
This will be for the members. While I was talking with logical123 one day, I was talking about how I got into collecting and other stories regarding finds, deals, or just interesting parts of collecting. I was able to elaborate much further on this than I feel that I could if I was typing it out. I also feel that the possibility of a co-host or an interview would allow the podcast to focus on the members of the site and their collections and experiences with the fluidity of conversation and truly allow their voice and excitement to be expressed to you.
As I mentioned in the forum, I will probably do a few episodes to see how it works for you and me. I also will be taking suggestions for show ideas so that this will become our show instead of just my experimental project. I hope to be hearing from you all soon.
