ANNOUNCEMENT!!!**Before, we get too far into our game announcement, the RF Generation Playcast has some other exciting news for our loyal listeners. Around the middle of September, we will be moving our hosting services from Podomatic to PodBean. With Podomatic's service, we have always been confined to a specific storage and bandwidth limitation. Once we neared our storage capacity, we had to start deleting old episodes every month, which also removed them from iTunes and Stitcher. For a lower cost, PodBean allows us to house all of our episodes and maintain full download capabilities from their site, as well as our RSS feed affiliates (iTunes & Stitcher). Once we compared our options, the move was kind of no-brainer. We have already uploaded all of our episodes to PodBean and created a working homepage at http://rfgenplaycast.podbean.com/, so please go ahead and check it out!
If you subscribe to use on Podomatic, iTunes, or Stitcher, please note that our next episode (which will be released at the beginning of September) will be our last episode released on Podomatic. You will need to resubscribe once we change our RSS feed. This will occur toward the middle of September and we will be sure to notify you on the RF Generation forums and homepage. Thanks for listening, and we hope that this move will only enhance your listening experience.**AND NOW BACK TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM....

With the month of August nearly half over, we continue to struggle through the rugged platforming of
Little Nemo: The Dream Master and a few of us are wading through the tumultuous sands of Dubai in
Spec Ops: The Line. Get ready to plow through some other great titles this September, and join GrayGhost81 as he moves to the retro side with playthrough veteran, Fleach, to host the Konami PSX classic,
Metal Gear Solid (PSX/PSN/PS2/PS3/360/PC). Likewise, retro host singlebanana takes a walk on the wild side with games buster, Disposed Hero, and hosts next month's modern playthrough,
Indigo Prophecy (PS2/XBox/Steam).
For our retro playthrough, we'll take a voyage to Shadow Moses Island as we join Solid Snake for his first polygonal 3D adventure. Fire up the Soliton Radar, stock up on rations, and get your stealth on as you try to stop a global nuclear conflict.
Metal Gear Solid is one of the most groundbreaking games of all time, both in its gameplay and cinematic presentation. With the release of
MGSV right around the corner, now is the perfect time to revisit the original game with your RF Generation comrades.

http://www.rfgeneration.c...m/index.php?topic=15911.0On a cold night in New York, Lucas Kane wakes from a trance to shockingly discover that he has murdered a man in the bathroom of an East Side diner. He flees the scene of the crime and with the police soon hot on his trail, he must try to discover what actually occurred and how to go about clearing his name.
Indigo Prophecy is an intricate thriller, not only do you play as "the killer," Lucas Kane, but progress the story by also controlling the two detectives who are hunting you down.
Indigo Prophecy has elements of point-and-click adventures where making environmental decisions, and interacting with objects and NPCs, may help you gather better information and understand the story better, affect your characters' moods, and can ultimately influence one of the three possible endings you earn. The game can be polarizing due to its presentation and has been dubbed as the "first truly interactive film." So join us on the modern side this month as we reveal the true intentions behind this murder and help Lucas Kane find comfort before he loses his sanity!

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What about December guys??
It has sort of been a tradition with the playthrough group to do something special in December. With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's fun to unwind from family and shopping with some quick one-sitters. In year one, we enjoyed some beat 'em up action with a
Streets of Rage series throwdown, and in our second year, we had a friendly shmup competition in which one highly-skilled member took home the belt (literally). It wouldn't be an RF Generation holiday season if we didn't hold ourselves to the same high standard this year. So this December, get ready as we tackle a new genre, the ole
RUN 'n GUN!
If you're confused about what qualifies a game as a "Run 'n Gun" title, the guys at
Game Sack have put together a nice list of attributes for this genre (slightly modified to include over-head shooters):
1. it must be predominantly 2-D side-scrolling or over-head shooting game;
2. it must have multi-directional shot; and
3. it must be fairly linear with no backtracking.
While we are not announcing these titles yet, the plan is to select 2-3 games for each side and play through them. The reason we are not announcing the games right now is because: (1) we are still undecided about what to play, and (2) we would like some member feedback about possible choices on the suggestion thread:
http://www.rfgeneration.c...m/index.php?topic=13242.0 Heck, we may even put a few of these titles to a vote.
Please join us on the Community Playthrough forum and let us know what you think about these picks. As always, we appreciate your feedback and game suggestions.
