We started out January of this year with a *BANG* by shooting our way through Angel Land and the streets of some unknown Middle Eastern locale. Currently, we are tromping through Hyrule to rescue the descendants of the Seven Sages and unlocking the mystery behind the 9 doors of a sinking vessel. The month of March will be no slouch either and will be jam-packed with furious action! On the retro side, we join an unlikely, and undead, hero in his quest to defend the land of Gallowmere from the return of an evil sorcerer in
MediEvil for the PSX and PSN. On the modern side, we make our first return to the Batman series (since our playthrough in April 2013) as we once again take up the cowl and cape of the Dark Knight in the third installment of the Arkham series,
Batman: Arkham Origins on the PS3, 360, WiiU and PC. We hope that you will join us for one, if not two, great games next month!
In
MediEvil, you play as Sir Daniel Fortesque, an undead knight of legend resurrected to battle an evil sorcerer who was defeated and banished 100 years ago. This time, the sorcecer Zarok has risen from exile with an army of undead and vowed to take his revenge on the land of Gallowmere. Our "hero" Sir Fortesque, whose history and acts of valor were greatly over-embellished by the king after the original battle, has been called upon from the grave to defend his homeland from the threat.
MediEvil is best described as an action-adventure comedy. The levels are filled with enemy walloping, problem solving, and a chalice collecting mechanic that allows you to visit the hallowed Hall of Heroes for weapon and item upgrades. But, what really sets this game apart is its great story, light-hearted horror element, and the constant humor employed by the NPCs. Will you help Daniel save the city and earn the honor so bestowed on him, or will you allow evil and eternal shame to triumph?

Batman: Arkham Origins, a prequel to
Arkham Asylum and
Arkham City. This unique entry in the series marks not only the departure of superstar development studio Rocksteady, but also a completely new voice cast, including Roger Craig Smith as Batman. In this installment of the series, Batman sets out in search of Black Mask after a bloody jailbreak at Blackgate Penitentiary. However, events soon take a dynamic turn and threaten to put the caped crusader's livelihood in peril. Is this adventure a worthy entry in the Arkham series, or lazy triple-A cash-in? Let's find out together!

http://www.rfgeneration.c...m/index.php?topic=15187.0Just as we did several months ago, we will be releasing our playthrough choices for the next 3 months. Public reception of us releasing our choices in advance has been positive and we do so in order to give participants more time to acquire these games and increase participation. So without further adieu, the retro and modern playthrough titles for April through June are as follows:
April:
Paper Mario (N64 & NVC);
Tomb Raider [2013] (360 & PS3)
May:
Shining Force (Genesis, NVC & Steam);
Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)
June:
Mega Man 2 & 3 (NES, PS2, GC & NVC);
Mass Effect (360, PS3, PSN, Steam & PC)
Many of these titles were taken from participant suggestions on our playthrough thread, and we hope that you are as excited about playing these titles as we are!
Medievil should be a lot of fun...Rich talked about it so much that it must be great
upcoming playthroughs look awesome, great choices as usual guys! Paper Mario is a ton of fun, if i hadn't just beaten it last year i would totally have joined in for that one. no promises but i'll most likely jump back in for the Mass Effect playthrough, that's a series i feel i need to try, especially since i have the trilogy set for PS3.

I hope I get to enjoy the playthroughs all year now if I finish them is another story
|
Looking over the list I have all the games but the 2 for march. anyone want to trade if they have an extra copy of Medievil? I hate stuff off of PSN
|
@douglie007: Participation is more than enough. Finishing a game is great, but as long as you can play along and discuss the game it's really appreciated.
What do you mean when you say you hate stuff off of PSN?
|
I hate to buy games on digital if I can have a physical copy, I guess thats what I mean Ill buy a good digital only game but never spend money on digital games that I can buy a cart/disc for.
|
Honestly, might have a copy sitting around douglie. No guarantees though.
|
@Shadow Kisuragi: Thanks Shadow, I dont even mind if its disc alone
