The RFGeneration Playthrough Group compels you to join us in playing a few "spooky" titles for the month of October. On the retro side, singlebanana will be hosting Castlevania: Symphony of the Night arguably one of the best Castlevania titles ever developed in this classic series (available on the PSX, XLA, & PSN). On the modern side, join Fleach as he hosts the renowned, episodic, psychological action thriller, Alan Wake on the XBox 360 and PC.

Castlevania: SotN, is the sequel to the beloved and well-received PC engine title, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. It first appeared on the PSX in 1997, and since then, has received critical acclaim as a cult classic and one of the best titles in this legendary series. Castlevania: SotN is an action RPG, in which you control Alucard, Dracula's damphir son who has set out to destroy Dracula's castle and prevent his father's resurrection. The game includes a few characters from previous titles, as well as some excellent plot twists that keep the story lively and interesting. Unlike it's predecessors, this game involves less direct platforming and instead, has a more open-ended gameplay style. It was also the first title in the series to introduce role playing elements, which have become a staple in some of the later Castlevania games. Join the Retro Playthough Team for Castlevania: SotN......IF YOU DARE!!!

Take the atmosphere of Twin Peaks combined with the psychologically strange writing of Stephen King to create the XBox 360/PC thriller Alan Wake. Alan is a writer who has relocated to the idyllic mountain town of Bright Falls to work on his next novel, but the town has other plans for the author. The eponymous hero of this game is in a delicate balancing act between nightmares and reality. Will the Darkness consume Alan or can he overcome the clutches of the night? Join the Modern Playthrough Team this October to find out!

@noiseredux: Good point.

@noiseredux: Thanks for the heads up. Change to initial post made. Cheesy

I like these pics. I'll see if I can eek out some time, although there is no way I could do both. Which one should I choose? Wink

@Duke.Togo: We would love to have you join us for one Duke. Both games should be worth your time. Tough choice this month if you have to make one.

Sweet, but I need to pick one.  Hmm...
