We have seen a nice increase in the number of participants in our monthly playthroughs and the forums have been buzzing with activity lately. We hope that all of you who participated in March enjoyed
Life is Strange and those of you who are joining us now are having a good time with the classic RPGs
Ys: Books I & II. The past year has been a lot of fun for the hosts and we would all like to thank you for your continued support and dedication to the playthroughs.
Next month, we are tackling a title that falls on both sides of the spectrum as it is a multiple award winner and best-seller, but also a game that was controversial for its time. The publisher Rockstar Games (creators of the
Grand Theft Auto series, is no stranger to controversy. However, with
Bully, Rockstar took the fight off of the streets and into the classroom.
Bully is an open world, action-adventure game, where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a student who was involuntary enrolled at Bullworth Academy (which exists in the same fictional Grand Theft universe). The school has a bully problem and it is up to you, the new student to put an end to it, and defend your fellow classmates from harm and ridicule. The school consists of the typical,
Breakfast Club-esque buffet of characters; you have your jocks, bullies, preps, nerds, and greasers. It's all up to break down these social constructs and bring peace to Bullworth by taking on various missions at school and around town. But..........don't get caught being mischievous, and by all means, don't miss class. Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate bully and win the hearts of your peers?
Bully plays a lot like the
Grand Theft Auto series, though the violence and sexual content is on a much milder scale. Fans of the
Grand Theft series should feel right at home with this title. It is available on multiple platforms, including PS2 (along with a special Scholarship Edition), Xbox 360, Wii, PC, and Playstation 4 via download from the Playstation Network.
