Our fourth game of 2018, was the true definition of a "cult classic." In this month's Playcast, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81) discuss that notoriously bawdy, foul-mouthed, platforming, red squirrel as they breakdown Conker's Bad Fur Day.  Known more in collector circles for its high price, adult content, potty humor, and movie references, the guys ultimately put its gameplay to the test.  Is this early 3-D platformer satisfying, or does it ignite controller chucking frustrations in the boys?  Which version of the game (N64, Xbox [Live & Reloaded], or Xbox One [Rare Replay Collection]) do the guys recommend most?  And does the price of this game justify picking up a copy or throwing your current copy up for sale while the market is high?  The answer to these questions and may more in this @#$%& episode of the RF Generation Playcast. Don't miss it!

Our 50th episode is NEXT and we want our listeners to send us an audio roast! Congrats, well wishes, and cheap shots are all welcome. Audio should be limited to under 2 minutes, so if you're interested, please contact singlebanana to find out how to send in your piece.  The submission deadline is June 1st.

According to the Playcast crew, they've knocked it out of the park with their January and February game picks this year. So, how did their March game fair?  In this month's Playcast, Rich (singlebanana), Shawn (GrayGhost81) and returning guest, Retro Fandango's own, Kevin (BuriedOnMars) discuss the nostalgia driven, hack 'n slash brawler Transformers: Devastation, which appeared on various 7th and 8th generation consoles. Not only do the guys review the game, but they also discuss the impact the Transformers animated series and toy-line had on their adolescence, including a very special segment dedicated to Transformers: The Movie. Is this game worth playing, or is it merely an effort to loose our purse strings with G1 nostalgia? If you're a fan of Transformers, then you definitely will not want to miss this episode of the RF Generation Playcast!

Are the Playcast boys two for two in picking great titles this year?  Find out by listening to our discussion of our February 2018 playthrough,  Vandal Hearts, a tactical RPG on the original Sony Playstation.  In this month's Playcast, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81) spend time discussing the intricate gameplay that makes Vandal Hearts so special. The guys also attempt to hash out the game's complex story, and chew over the game's graphics and sounds. Is this "cult classic" worthy of making its home in your PS1 library? Did Rich possibly purchase his greatest score of all time? And what the H, E, double hockey sticks is a "waifu?" You won't want to miss this episode of the RF Generation Playcast!

It's a new year and with that comes New Year's resolutions.  In January, the Playcast Crew resolved to play Night School Studio's indie darling, Oxenfree.  In this month's Playcast join hosts, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81) as they discuss the game's story, its mechanics, the music and sound, and get super philosophically deep into the game's overarching question: "If you could go back and change a decision in your life, would you?".  In this episode, the guys also discuss their gaming related New Year's resolutions, their thoughts on Nintendo's latest creation, Nintendo Labo, and their current literary consuming endeavors.  How does Oxenfree compare to other freedom of choice titles like those developed by Telltale Games?  What's in the game's title?  And what "weird" hang-up does Rich have when it comes to playing remakes? The answer to these questions and many more in this month's episode of the RF Generation Playcast. You won't want to miss it!

Some of you may have noticed that this episode has arrived a bit earlier than usual.  The reason is because our good friend and site member, Kevin (Buried_on_Mars), who some of you may know from the show or follow his podcast Retro Fandango, is doing a 48 hour Twitch charity fundraiser this weekend.  Shawn and I discuss the fundraiser on the show and we wanted to make sure to get the word out to our listeners in time, since the broadcast is this weekend.  Please be sure to listen to this portion of the show and to learn more about Kevin's goal, please check out the following link: https://buriedonmars.word...ream-on-february-10-11th/

This December we took some chumps to the mat during our annual Site Competition. Last month, we competed for fastest KO/TKO times and title belts in the classic Nintendo titles, Punch-Out! and Super Punch-Out!. Listen to our Playcast this month as hosts, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81), are joined once again by special guest, RF Generation playthrough all-star, Doug (douglie007) to discuss both Punch-Out! titles and our Top 5 favorite playthroughs of 2017.  In this episode, the guys discuss their earliest memories of the Punch-Out! series, what they believe makes these "sports" titles so beloved by so many gamers, and ponder Shawn's possible abduction by alien lifeforms.  Do both Punch-Out!games still hold up today? And which game outside of our playthroughs did the guys enjoy playing the most in 2017? The answer to these questions and many more in this month's episode of the RF Generation Playcast. This November we played through our first ever title on the original Game Boy. Hosts, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81), are joined by special guest, RF Generation site member, and gray brick aficionado, MetalFRO (aka. The Game Boy Guru) to discuss the classic, action/adventure RPG, Final Fantasy Adventure.  In this episode, the guys discuss the gameplay, the weapons and items, the somewhat convoluted story, and the game's surprisingly complex music.  Did this game pass the classic gaming "sniff test" for all of the guys, or is it just another lackluster relic from days of yore? And which game series does it have more in common with, Final Fantasy or the Mana Chronicles? The answer to these questions and many more in this month's episode of the RF Generation Playcast. Join RF Generation Playcast hosts, Rich (singlebanana), Shawn (GrayGhost81), and returning guest, Pam (host of Cannot Be Tamed and Media Mavens) as they discuss a lesser known title from a well-known developer.  This month's Playcast plunges into Febrauray's site playthrough of Murdered: Soul Suspect, which was developed by Square Enix.  Opinions of this game typically range from both ends of the spectrum, so how will our cast of gamers fall on it?  Is it worth the few bucks a used copy commands, or are you better off leaving it on the shelf?  Did Rich enjoy the overall narrative?  Did Pam take issue with the combat?  And did Shawn enjoy making little cat sounds?  Be sure to tune in to this episode of the RF Generation Playcast to find out!
