Activision, while slow and quiet in their response, has stepped up and admitted they've made mistakes with the Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock by taking appropriate actions to remedy the situation. As a thank you gift to those who have had to wait through the disc replacement process, they are sending a free guitar faceplate. Those who registered should recieve a note stating the faceplate will arrive a few weeks after the fixed edition of the game. It seems a lot of things are shipped out only to break immediately in consumers' hands. Overheating 360s, breaking Rock Band guitars, and snapping Wiimote straps are just some of the things gamers have had to put up with in recent years, and the best one can expect is to have the shoddy product replaced after waiting for months. It is nice for a change that a company goes the extra mile to make up for the inconvenience. Things are looking better for RedOctane and Activision. So... Guitar Hero III owners, does the freebie balance out the disappointment and hassle? Is RedOctane still cool? Who will gaff up next? Only time will tell. Source: [ Wii Fanboy]

Can't argue about free stuff. I'm not sure if I'll use the faceplate, as I am sort of partial to the white, but it's nice that they are doing something to reimburse us for the hassle.

I was psyched until my brother got his disc back yesterday and didn't get a face plate. Bullshit. I can't wait until get mine back...
Got my disc back today, but no note of a gift of any sort. Just a thank you for supporting GHIII.
I didn't get anything either. What a scam story!
Got my face plate today!
Wow....ppl had to pay $80 for a broken product, wait weeks to get a working product, and for all your suffering you get a $5 faceplate.....wow, that's generous.....
Well, mr bro got his faceplate yesterday so I guess I they are shipping them seperate. I agree with you Tholly, $5 faceplate isn't much but I guess it is better than nothing. What a scam a single guitar costs. It's $60 for an $80 game. I might as well buy the game with the guitar and try trading or selling the game.

In my case, it's a $5 face plate that I will never use Oh well, what's done is done. I have my game back. That's all that matters.
