In this month's Concertcast segment, the boys add to your summer listening playlist as they dive into their favorite albums of 1997. Will Shawn's first experience with the game be favorable? And will Rich and Bil come away loving Axiom Verge as much as they did when first playing it? Tune in and find out!

The guys discuss the newest title from one of their favorite developers, Quantic Dream, the sci-fi, android-driven adventure, Detroit: Become Human. Prior to their game discussion, the boys get into the ConcertCast and discuss some of the media they've been consuming recently. What follows is a conversation on the concept of "singularity," that you won't want to miss!
Be sure to stick around for the results of the question of the month poll and a discussion of Detroit that covers gameplay, significant moments in the game, and the outcomes of our playthroughs. Since this is the 4th Quantic Dream title that we have played as a group, the guys conclude by rating each game in order of their preference. It's hard to believe that our 50th episode is finally HERE! This month Shawn (GrayGhost81) and Rich (singlebanana) take a stroll down memory lane to discuss some special moments over the last 50 episodes and take some time to thank their former co-hosts and special guests. What follows is a discussion of the cutesy, PS1 RPG known as Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. How did the guys take to the game's simple gameplay? Was the story interesting enough to keep their attention? And would Shawn's cuddly recommendation ultimately win Rich over? The answer to these questions and may more in this episode of the RF Generation Playcast. Be sure to stick around for our blooper reel at the end.
A special thanks to our playthrough participants and listeners for all of the love and support over the years. We would have never made it this far without you!

Join RF Generation Playcast hosts, Rich (singlebanana), Shawn (GrayGhost81), and long time RF Generation member and front page contributor, Addicted, as they discuss a popular, point-and-click PC title from 2002, Syberia. This month's Playcast travels through Old World, European communities inhabited by humans and marvelous, mechanical, masterpieces called automatons. In this month's podcast, we take an in-depth look at Syberia's fantastic narrative, beautiful, steampunk art style, and its stripped down game mechanics. This title has received praise from point-and-click enthusiasts, but how does it set on the palates of our fine, gaming connoisseurs? Did this game's messages find their way into the hearts and minds of our participants, or are they simply muddled due to other shortcomings? And can the boys ever figure out how to line up a call correctly? The answers to these questions and many more in this month's episode of the RF Generation Playcast!

I think that I speak for the entire staff here at RF Generation when I say that we are absolutely STUNNED by the amount of submissions that have already been added to the database during this year's Pain Yourself With Submissions contest. So far, during the month of May alone, our dedicated database review staff has approved over 11,000.............YES, I said 11,000 new submissions to our database! That's an absurd amount of submissions and it doesn't even include those submitted at the beginning of our contest in April, and certainly does not include the avalanche of submissions that we anticipate during the final week of the contest this month (contest ends June 8th). I must say that I am very humbled and proud of the work our members have done during the contest and that your tireless efforts have gone a long way in making our database one, if not THE BEST, sources for video game-related information on the Internet.
Please remember that here are not only bragging rights at stake for the winner, but also a super sweet prize package, which includes your choice of $60 worth of gaming goodness from GameGavel, eBay, or Amazon, and an official RF Generation ringer T-shirt. If you have any questions about the rules for the contest and want to join (it's not too late), you can find more information here: http://www.rfgeneration.c...ons-Contest-2016-3286.php
Also, a BIG shoutout to our staff of approvers who have taken careful efforts to review all of these submissions. Nice work gents, your time and commitment is certainly appreciated.
Thank you to all who have participated and good luck to all in the upcoming week!
We have seen a nice increase in the number of participants in our monthly playthroughs and the forums have been buzzing with activity lately. We hope that all of you who participated in March enjoyed Life is Strange and those of you who are joining us now are having a good time with the classic RPGs Ys: Books I & II. The past year has been a lot of fun for the hosts and we would all like to thank you for your continued support and dedication to the playthroughs.
Next month, we are tackling a title that falls on both sides of the spectrum as it is a multiple award winner and best-seller, but also a game that was controversial for its time. The publisher Rockstar Games (creators of the Grand Theft Auto series, is no stranger to controversy. However, with Bully, Rockstar took the fight off of the streets and into the classroom.

This May, join the RF Generation Playthrough Group as some of us knockout our backlog, and others revisit our past loves. On retro side, singlebanana hosts the Playthrough's first attempt at a turn-based, tactical RPG with Shining Force originally on the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive, and also available for the Wii Virtual Console, Sega Smash Pack 1 (DC), Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (360/PS3), Steam, and the GBA (as Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon [with additional plots and characters]). And on the modern side, join host GrayGhost81 as he plays through the wildly stylistic platformer and 10th installment of the popular Kirby series, Kirby's Epic Yarn on the Nintendo Wii.

We started out January of this year with a *BANG* by shooting our way through Angel Land and the streets of some unknown Middle Eastern locale. Currently, we are tromping through Hyrule to rescue the descendants of the Seven Sages and unlocking the mystery behind the 9 doors of a sinking vessel. The month of March will be no slouch either and will be jam-packed with furious action! On the retro side, we join an unlikely, and undead, hero in his quest to defend the land of Gallowmere from the return of an evil sorcerer in MediEvil for the PSX and PSN. On the modern side, we make our first return to the Batman series (since our playthrough in April 2013) as we once again take up the cowl and cape of the Dark Knight in the third installment of the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Origins on the PS3, 360, WiiU and PC. We hope that you will join us for one, if not two, great games next month!

First off, I want to give a big "Thank You" to the 9 members who have taken the time to donate money to the site during our annual donation drive. So Thank You Tadpole13, Razor Knuckles, Raidou, Nupoile, Zagnorch, OatBob, and Wempster. Together you guys have raised over $600 to keep the site running. And unless someone tops your donation in the next couple days, you'll be receiving an ultra-rare gold colored NES game. If you're not one of these fine gentlemen, and want to help keep the site alive, you can send a PayPal donation to webmaster@rfgeneration.com or just click the little Donate icon at the bottom of this article. Either way, your contribution is only used for paying the hosting bill around here, which is around $100 each and every month. If you don't know how much to donate, donate whatever you can, whether its $5 or $5000, every little bit helps. But for reference, the average donation amount this year has been $77.21. I'm not saying you must donate that much, but if you want to conform to the standard, you probably should.
And of course, I must thank all of you out there that are PAINING YOURSELF WITH SUBMISSIONS! In may, the most PAINED WITH SUBMISSIONS member was Zagnorch, with 2190 submissions. Next was ApolloBoy with over 1000 submissions, and each with over 500 submissions were Flee, MrMeek, Aeroc, and ae.tc. Thanks guys, you are obviously taking this competition seriously, and you should be. One of you is likely to walk away with another copy of that super-rare gold colored NES game. If your name isn't listed here, don't worry, you can still win this thing. But you better get your butt moving, Zagnorch really wants that game, and you wouldn't want him to get it would you?
But don't forget about those poor souls who tirelessly sift through all those submissions to find the ones that are worthy of approving into the database. Without them, we'd have a database full of incorrect information and stolen images. May's biggest Approver was Shadow Kisuragi with an astounding 3468 approvals and who knows how many rejections. Next up was Tynstar with just shy of 1000, and ApolloBoy with 733. Thanks guys, you have been doing an awesome job at keeping that queue down this year, I only saw it above 100 once this year.
Thanks to everyone else who has contributed in May and during our annual contest so far. It really is true that every little bit helps. Whether its a page edit to fix a typo or a donation of $500, we truly appreciate it all.
Click the button, you know you want to.
