In this month's episode of the Playcast, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81) address these strange times as they travel to the fantastical world of Albion, the setting of Lionhead Studio's Fable II. The guys discuss the ins-and-outs of the game's story, battle mechanics, gameplay, graphics, sounds, and the game's one-of-a-kind morality system. It goes without saying, but we will, that the opinions herein are those of the hosts and in no way reflect the views of RF Generation. So welcome to this special episode of the Playcast; we hope you enjoy the listen as you practice your social distancing. In this very special episode, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81) take a trip back in time with one of their childhood favorites the RPG, Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest. Are they looking at the game through rose-colored glasses or will this experience prove their fond memories true? Episode #60 of the Playcast, is dedicated to the memory of Shawn's childhood friend and one of the game's biggest fans, the late Jessie Patterson. Be sure to stick around after the show for a special treat. You will not want to miss it!
The guys discuss the game's story, the ins-and-outs of the gameplay, the graphics, the music, and sounds. Due to the heavy grinding required to complete Dragon Warrior, some reviewers have described it as "unplayable." Shawn and Rich determine whether this term fits and even get a hand from an old friend. In our Concertcast segment, the guys discuss their Top 5 albums that were released in 1986, the same year Dragon Quest came out in Japan. Can you guess what some of their favorite tunes are? And will they come away loving this game as much as they did back in the day? The answers to all of these questions and many more, in the newest episode of the RF Generation Playcast. Check it out!

According to the Playcast crew, they've knocked it out of the park with their January and February game picks this year. So, how did their March game fair? In this month's Playcast, Rich (singlebanana), Shawn (GrayGhost81) and returning guest, Retro Fandango's own, Kevin (BuriedOnMars) discuss the nostalgia driven, hack 'n slash brawler Transformers: Devastation, which appeared on various 7th and 8th generation consoles. Not only do the guys review the game, but they also discuss the impact the Transformers animated series and toy-line had on their adolescence, including a very special segment dedicated to Transformers: The Movie. Is this game worth playing, or is it merely an effort to loose our purse strings with G1 nostalgia? If you're a fan of Transformers, then you definitely will not want to miss this episode of the RF Generation Playcast!
Our 50th episode is only two shows away and we want YOU to send us an audio roast! Congrats, well wishes, and cheap shots are all welcome. Audio should be limited to under 2 minutes, so if you're interested, please contact singlebanana to find out how to send in your piece.

Join RF Generation Playcast hosts, Rich (singlebanana), Shawn (GrayGhost81), and former Playcast co-host Steven (Disposed Hero) as they discuss one of the most well-known and genre-defining PC titles of the last 20 years. This month's Playcast crawls deep into the bowels of Hell to seek out and destroy it's formidable caretaker during March's site playthrough discussion of Diablo. One of Blizzard's first entries that helped establish the famed developer, Diablo thrilled fans of action/adventure RPGs during it's time. But, how does this game hold up after 20 years, and will this retro pick impress some of our more modern gaming centric hosts? How do the PC and PS1 versions compare, and which should you play? And does The Butcher still make us s#%t our pants just as he did in days of yore? The answers to these questions and many more in this episode of the RF Generation Playcast!

Sorry...couldn't resist one more We had another great month of submissions in March a total of 4,540! Total submissions included 4,438 games and 102 hardware items added to our growing database. We had another strong effort from our international members and it's very nice to see our database and site becoming more diverse. Thanks to all of you who put forth such a good effort to help make the site an even more valuable tool for collectors.
Before I go into the submission and approval results from March, I'd like to recognize a few of our site members who were promoted last month. Two of our international members, FatherJack and schlibby have accepted offers to join our database staff as DB Reviewers. Their outstanding efforts in growing our database over the last several months have been phenomenal and their knowledge will continue to help improve the information associated with our international submissions. Congratulations guys and welcome as full-time members of our staff!
I'd also like to mention that our outstandingly witty and handsome, editor-in-chief, singlebanana has been promoted to Site Director. No need to fear, he will still be handling all front page duties for your viewing pleasure and keeping you up-to-date with all the latest site news. If you see him around the office, please offer him your congratulations, but please remember to not become enchanted by his dashingly good looks and stare at him for too long. It makes him quite uncomfortable.
Now, on with this months top contributors!

Next month, we hope that some of you will join us in playing in the first episodic, adventure game of the RF Generation Community Playthrough. Guide Max through this modern, coming of age story and help her learn how to use her time-shifting powers to prevent this natural disaster from demolishing her town.
Life is Strange has been praised for its fantastic character development and effort to tackle certain subjects considered taboo for video games. It has won several awards including Develop Industry Excellence Awards (New Games IP - PC/console & Use of Narrative), Golden Joystick Award (Performance of the Year [Ashly Burch]), Global Game Awards (Best Adventure & Best Original Game), The Game Awards (Games for Change), Playstation Official Magazine (Best Episodic Adventure & Best Moment), New Statesman's (Best Game of 2015), and received countless other nominations and runner-ups awards. It's a bit past the end of March. March, was a great month. We have tons of submissions from you guys. Without the submissions of our staff and members, we truly are nothing. For that, we are grateful.
We'd like to take this moment to thank those submitters who made a major difference in the month of March. Overall, the community made 873 submissions. All of you deserve a huge pat on the back for that. Our top five submitters were Apolloboy, NES_Rules, Shadow Kisuragi, Necrosaro, and tigerhandheld1989 Congrats on being the top five! Of course, if you made a submission and weren't in the top five please know that we are also very grateful for your submissions as well.
Similarly, we have staff members that must approve member submissions. Last month, ApolloBoy made the most number of approvals! Of course, every other reviewer contributed as well, and we are very grateful for that as well.
Thank you so much all! You guys make RF Generation what it is! Keep submitting strong! Without you guys we are nothing!
What's that? You say its April 20th? OK, it is a little late for the RFG Thanks for March, I guess the zombie brain eating earlier this month left me a little forgetful. But late is still better than never, right?
March was another great month for RFG and its members. There were 2,352 total submissions;1,037 page edits; 358 image submissions; and 525 title additions. Many of you helped us to gather all these wonderful bits of information. But five of you stood out of the crowd and made over 100 submissions alone. Those members were Paully3433, Izret101, Link41, ApolloBoy, and Madir. Rounding out the top ten submitters were ga5ket, Duke.Togo, NES_Rules, Shadow Kisuragi, and Pop Culture Portal. But as always, many of those submissions wouldn't go anywhere without our team of reviewers. In March, with well over 100 approvals, the top reviewers were Izret101 and ApolloBoy.
Now let's see if we can April even better! We're getting very close to 55,000 scans and 30,000 screenshots in the database. Maybe we can do it in April, if you've got a scanner and/or a way to capture screenshots; get to it and make some submissions. You will be helping out RFGeneration, its members and the countless others that use us as a resource for their collecting needs. Plus, its always neat to have your name and/or a picture of one of your games forever immortalized on the Internet!
Finally, I'd like to announce the promotions of Izret101 and Paully3433! Because of their continued contributions, they have been promoted to DB Editor and DB Reviewer, respectively.
