Welcome to a world where a game's physics engine doesn't dictate what happens. Welcome to a world where damage means nothing, or everything. A world where random spawns are the norm, where accidents DO happen. Welcome to a world of Glitches. Welcome, to The Glitch Files, where you will encounter some of the strangest, most bizarre, and downright odd glitches of the gaming world. Not only will we show you footage of the glitch, but will give directions on how to exactly preform said glitch for yourself!Today's special features a glitch from the well known game on the Nintendo GameCube, Super Smash Brothers Melee, sometimes known as Super Smash Bros. Melee or SSBM. This glitch is known as the Black Hole Gitch, and is fairly famous for the amount of hilarity that can ensue if preformed correctly. First, a very well done video by the youtube user RetardedKitty, demonstrating the Black Hole Glitch in action. As you can see, the effects of the glitch are very pronounced. A circular shape eventually appears, in which anything that touches it will be sucked in. This can lead to a maxed out damage percent, interesting patterns, etc. The amount of fun available to one who knows how to preform this glitch is enormous. How to do this? Well, first, you will need a GameCube or Wii, a copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee, 4 Controllers, and at least 2 people. 2 people will require the use of tape, so it is recommended to use 3 or 4. The more the merrier, as they always say. Steps: - Boot up the game with all 4 controllers plugged in. Set the game to either 99 stock or 99 minutes. Also turn off all items except Super Scope, and put its frequency on Very Low or Low. Now, select Fox or Falco as one player, Fox or Falco as two player, Peach as three player, and a final character that will be doing the shooting. Ness is the preferred option.
- Now, before choosing a stage, set one of the Fox/Falco characters to be on a team with the player that will be doing the shooting (Ness from now on). Make the other Fox/Falco on a team with Peach. Press start.
- At the Stage Selection screen choose either Hyrule Castle or a stage that has 2 platforms. (Hyrule is recommended). Start the stage.
- Wait for a Super Scope to appear. When one does, have Ness grab it. Then, you must do the Unlimited Ammo glitch, which is as follows: Tap A lightly ONCE so that 3 bursts come forth. Do this an additional 4 times, for a total of 5 times, or 15 mini bursts. Then, release 2 fully charged shots. Have another character stand near, and begin to charge a 3rd shot. As you are charging, have the other character hit you. Now you have unlimited ammo!
- Have Ness positioned on the left side of the screen, and have his teammate stand in front of him. Have the other Fox/Falco stand on the other side of the little crevice, on the bit of land that juts into the air. Position Peach in the crevice.
- Now begins the glitch. Have both Falcos/Foxes do the DOWN+B move, the Reflector Shield. Begin to shoot a rapid stream of shot through your teammate. It will pass through him, bounce off the other, and then get stuck inside the pair. Once this is occurring, have Peach jump up into the gray stream until green balls start to appear.
- After some trial and error, which can even mean repositioning the Foxes/Falcos closer or farther apart, a solid green line of balls will form. When the line appears, the Foxes/Falcos can let go of the Down+B move. Begin to use Peach's DOWN+B move to throw radishes into the stream. You will begin to feel game lag. Continue to throw the radishes in at least 14 times. Then, with Peach or Ness, push one of the Foxes/Falcos off the edge.
- Congratulations, you've made a black hole! Now all you can do is have fun! Throw boxes into it, have people jump in, and best of all, have Ness cast PK Fire or PK Thunder into it. You can end up with a flaming ring that looks like a sun! But beware, your game WILL lag, and game hangs are possible at any time. No damage will be done, but know that the game can hang.
Have Fun, and until next time, keep glitching!

That... is completely awesome.

That's pretty neat.. makes you wonder how someone ever stumbled upon it.

That is wicked cool. I've heard of the glitch but haven't seen it done before.
Excellent idea too! You have tons of amazing things that could keep this series going for quite some time
One of my favs was the Goldeneye 4th tower but you needed a gameshark for that. Plus TONS of trial and error for little to no reward :-/

I've done this with my friends before, and it's just as much fun as it sounds...although in the experience I've had with it, it's EXTREMELY volatile. 3 or 4 minutes after getting the black hole to work, at the most, before the game would freeze. There's one video I've seen somewhere where some people mess around with it for 10 or 15 minutes, and it seriously boggles my mind that they could get lucky enough for it to last that long, haha.

I liked this glitch from the Thrasher Skate and Destroy demo on PS1:

gotta love Melee!, it sure had its share of fun

Lol, I wonder how someone finds out about that.

@CatchFiveBats: Huh, I've done it twice, and the first time, it barely lagged at all and we played for at least 45 minutes. The second time it hung after about 20 minutes. Odd...
