Yesterday I went to Belgium's biggest gaming event called "Next". It was quite a big event with all the biggest publishers/developers present, as well as Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. There were also some non-gaming brands present such as Samsung, Nikon, Apple, Bose, Philips, etc.... I had to go alone because none of my friends were willing to pay the 12 Euros admission. That obviously made things less fun but then I came up with the idea of shooting some photos of the event and sharing them with you guys.
There weren't any new games shown at the event nor were there any announcements made, but that's to be expected from a relatively small event in Belgium. Also, I must keep in mind that most gamers probably don't actively follow gaming news like I do, so for them many of these games will be new.
The Xbox 360 stand. I was most interested in Mirror's Edge which was pretty awesome to play.

Wii Fit...even the people from Nintendo didn't seem like they were having fun.

I only got to play Dead Space for about 10min, but it was fun nevertheless.

LBP attracted quite a crowd so I didn't bother to wait in line. I probably should have, though...

There was this big Guitar Hero demonstration which was quite fun to watch. I found it hilarious how they brought all those Marshall amps seeing how they don't need those at all. As you can see they aren't even turned on.

Some people playing what I assume is Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 at the Ubi Soft stand. I'm not sure though.

Those ugly and overpriced Acer PC's were also on display...

God, the horror of hearing a 9 year old trying to play drums in Wii Music...

It's Batman and Robin made out of LEGO!!!

There weren't many things given out at this event. I remember going to one a couple of years ago (I think it was in 2004) and coming home with tons of demos, posters, etc...
I only got two posters and some random flyers. No demos. I guess even the games industry feels the depression...
I did get two theme decks of Magic cards and three cool cd cases which is great. In fact, those Magic decks cost 11 Euros each at my local shop so those alone made up for the 12 Euros admission.

All in all the event was quite fun and a good way to spend a couple of hours. They overpriced on the food though...5.80 Euros for a sandwich?!? I'm not that crazy just yet.
