Are you tired of hearing opinions on E3 yet? Well too bad, because we're here to chime in as well. We talk about the major pressers, what we think about the upcoming games, and the things we are looking forward to. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, EA, and Ubisoft all get some time with us, and maybe some of the games we discuss will even come out this year.
Who do we think did the best job? Did we get it right or wrong? Let us know!

Apparently none of you guys took advantage of spring break this year and decided to instead stick around rfgen submitting to the database. We had quite an impressive month in March with 9 different members making 100+ submissions for the month. It’s especially nice to see some members from the PAL region working hard on filling in those gaps. So let’s give a special thanks to the top 5 submitters of this month: Bildstar, Fragems, The Razemeister, Apolloboy and Sirgin!!
And don’t forget about the amazing approval staff we have. Shadow Kisuragi and Paully3433 were prolific this month and took on the brunt of those submissions approving well over 600 of them each.
Just as importantly though, we want to thank all of you for having a good sense of humor. It seems that many of you guys forgot, or were just unaware, of how important April Fools is to us here at rfgeneration. This year’s April Fools Blog suckered in quite a few of our members Luckily the staff here are as honest as they are humorous and disabled the donate button for the day so that nobody was duped into donating under false pretences.
It’s great to know that so many of the members here are willing to pony up for our services, but rest assured that won’t be the case. Rfgeneration has always been a community driven site. It was founded with the idea that site can be, and so far always has been, supported by its members. Every year you guys have stepped up and donated enough to keep the site both free and ad free. So even though you don’t have to worry about being forced to pay to access our database we are always accepting donations to cover our server and other costs. That donation button at the top of the page should be functioning properly again now
With all that said there was a kernel of truth in the April Fool Blog. The Collectorcast has been successful and because of the size of the episodes we are quickly running out of space on our podomatic account. The cost to upgrade to the next storage level is quite sizable. To help out Duke, Bil and myself with this financial strain the benevolent staff here have offered to host some of our older episodes through the site so that we can lower our storage on podomatic. A landing page for the collectorcast is also in the works.
So in summary, thanks to everyone for supporting the site with your time, generosity, knowledge and support (except for Zagnorch of course )!!

With RFGeneration's 2013 successful donation drive being done and over, this episode is dedicated to the generous donors that helped keep the site afloat. The small scores section will be dominated by the finds from our benevolent donors that gave through the end of the drive (Feb. 1). Feeling left out this time around? Too bad you should have given us money!!!
In addition to the sites donation drive us podcasters held a little auction to raise some extra RFGen fundage for a guest spot on the show. Our lucky (that's debatable) winner was Nupoile!! His fearless and charitable spirit saw him talking with the 3 of us about what drives him to collect, how he goes about it, and why the Odyssey 2 is so amazing.
Thanks so much to everyone who chipped in in any way (not just financially) to keep improving the best gaming database on the net. This year's donation drive was successful because of the amazing community that supports RFGeneration and keeps it growing and thriving. I know were not alone in looking forward to many more years to come of sharing our fascinating hobby through the medium of RFGeneration!!

How would YOU like to be a guest on an upcoming RFGeneration Collectorcast episode? The winner of this auction will get to join hosts Crabmaster2000, Duke.Togo, and Wildbil52 for an interview. http://www.gamegavel.com/....cgi?show_item=0000715716
This will be your chance to talk about your collection, share your passion for the hobby, and tell Crabby yourself why Super Metroid is great (or not, I suppose if you are one of THOSE people.)
All proceeds from this auction will go directly to support RFGeneration. RFGeneration is supported solely on donations, we have zero advertisements and everything on the site is completely free. Any and all donations go strictly to paying for our server costs. Well, what are you waiting for? GET BIDDING!

We have talked at length in the past about many of the quirks involved with a collectors persona. Do those oddities manifest themselves into your gaming life also? The three of us reflect on our game playing to see if our collector mentality spills over. Apparently it hits some of us harder than others
We also hope you enjoy the extended Small Score part of the podcast! Extended?!!? Thats correct. With a few generous RFGeneration members donating enough money to the site to reach our coveted featured on the collectorcast target, weve added their latest pickups to the podcast in great detail. So take the time to listen to their finds for the month and hopefully it encourages more people to donate in order to keep the site running smoothly!

Do words like Reproduction, ROM Hack or Pirate Cart have any place in a collector's vocabulary? There are many fringe areas of collecting that may or may not find a home in your collection. How far removed from legitimate licensed releases are you comfortable with? If playing on the original hardware is important to you, is there a way to justify playing a back up of your games?
Where can you even get these things? Why would you want them? Are you still considered a collector if you partake?
Get our occasionally nonsensical take on such subjects as we explore the farthest reaches of physical media and collecting.
Interesting side note: If you listen to Episode 10 of the Collectorcast backwards, at full blast, and playing at half speed you might just hear the most sinister and unholy of words uttered straight from the depths of Hell... emulation!!

Whether you're just starting out your collecting career or you've been at it for a little while, it can be daunting to tackle an unfamiliar system. Model Revisions, 1st and 3rd party accessories, different territories, software and many other new areas are opened up for you to explore. We'll take one of the most beloved systems of all time, the NES, and break it down so that hopefully people still learning the basics about it can leave the Collectorcast with new found, and vastly useful, knowledge in their collecting quests for this classic system. As an area of focus for all 3 of our collections we hope to pool our combined knowledge and experience with the NES and show that there is a lot more to the Nintendo than one might think. But with a few tricks, a bit of research and some trial and error anyone can dive in and enjoy collecting for the NES in many different capacities if they have the desire.
As usual we'll also spend waaay too much time discussing the plethora of amazing scores that have been posted (and blogged) at RF Generation. It's becoming cliche to keep saying that this month's scores exceeded the last, but fortunately it keeps being true! So check it out and see if you made the cut this time around. And make sure to stay tuned until the end for a special announcement regarding how you can help rfgeneration.com......

Many of us are familiar with the games released for our favorite consoles. But how can you enhance your collection beyond simply obtaining retail releases? Well explore one of many answers to that question this time around by entering the realm of Homebrew titles. And to make sure we treat the subject appropriately we've sought out help. NES Homebrew Developer John White, creator of the game Assimilate, joins us to discuss his thoughts on Homebrew games.
We took this opportunity to poke and prod as much info as we could from him regarding both his game and Homebrews in general. Being a collector focused site, we of course had to get his unique perspective on the collectability of such items too.
As usual we also discuss the most interesting scores posted on the site since our last recording. With the overwhelming number of post this time around we must apologize if you feel we missed mentioning your finds. There were far too many wonderful additions to our member's collections this episode that we really had to cut it down to what we felt were the absolute best scores.
