Absolutely spectacular weekend for treasure hunting. The weather has finally started to get cold this season, which cut down on the number of sales, but the ones that were open seemed to be selling really cheap to counter act the low number of customers. I think we only went to around 20 sales and were home around noon. A good 2-3 hours sooner than usual.

Saturday Garage Sales

This was a great sale, people just trying to get rid of stuff. My dad got 10 pound box of roofing nails for $1 and an electric meat grinder for another $1. This is what I got, it was in three separate boxes and I didn't even realize the one box was the Atari's box until I loaded it into the truck. She said she got this stuff out because someone asked about "old games" but apparently didn't want this stuff. Probably a flea marketer or eBayer looking for a quick buck. She wanted $10 for it all. I was willing to pay that, but offered $5 for the hell of it, we agreed on $7.
The owner of this must have been pretty serious at programming since most of those cassettes seem to have games he made, but I haven't tried any out to confirm that. I also think that TV Guide's "A Shopper's Guide To 1981's Best Video Games" is the best thing I got all weekend. Such a great piece of first hand VG history.

We almost didn't stop at this sale because I know we were there at least twice in the last 2 months, but since there weren't many sales anyway, we stopped. This was all in the plastic bin under the table marked $25. I ended paying $19.99 (there was a penny in the box Wink )
Also while we there, a woman was counting GI Joe figures for an old man, the box was clearly marked $3 each. She ended up counting 90 of them and told the guy he could have the whole box for $200. And then he's like " Oh No. I only sell them for $2 each." So why the hell did you just make this poor woman count them out? Did you think she'd give you the box for $20?

Oh and those batteries were in the plug n plays, they're all good too. The beads/rocks are a necklace (X-mas present for someone Tongue )

Sunday Flea Market

Saw this stack of games as soon as I walked in the flea market. She wanted like $5 each or all them for $40. So of course I bought them all. The FF7 is up for sale BTW.

This guy has had this shoe box of games for weeks and each week they got cheaper so I finally bit and bought the ones I needed for $1 each. Nothing spectacular, but it's always fun filling in holes.

I was kind of disappointed in the flea market though because my regular trading guy wasn't there and I even brought him some games he specifically asked for. Oh well, there's always next week. Well, there may be a next week anyway.

nice haul! Tongue laugh

Nice score on the 400.

You never cease to amaze me.

you guys are king

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide....one of the worst games I've ever seen. Otherwise? Nice haul. Apperently Maximum Carnage for the SNES is Japan's most expensive used game, costing like $600 or $700 at some shops. Wonder how much you could get for the Genesis version.

It almost isn't fun anymore how you get better and better deals as the weeks progress. Shocked

@Wolfman Walt:

Kotaku says that the Mega Drive version goes for even more than that... they saw it for $900.

Great finds, NES_Rules! I'm jealous!

Excellent Finds again this weekend NES_Rules.  I haven't posted finds in awhile.  Maybe today I'll post my 3-4 week backlog of finds.

Wow, thanks for all the compliments guys. I'm going to miss this when the garage sales finally end this season.

Nice finds, and this far into October too?

@The Reverend:Thanks, and it is very unusual to be finding anything that late in October, let alone such good stuff. The bargains usually dry up in September.
