In this episode, Shawn (GrayGhost81) and Rich (singlebanana) discuss their playthrough of the dystopian, FPS classic, Bioshock. The guys discuss their favorite dystopian environments in various forms of media, and disclose some films that they've never seen that may call the validity of their "geek cards" into question. If you're interested in philosophy, you won't want to miss their discussion of Ayn Rand and her pillars of Objectivism. Will Bioshock hold up for Shawn on a second playthrough? And will a second attempt to wash the poor FPS taste out of Rich's mouth be an additional success? All of this, in the newest episode of the RF Generation Playcast. Check it out!

It's that time of year again here at RF Generation, our annual PAIN YOURSELF WITH SUBMISSIONS CONTEST starts TOMORROW!  Officially starting at 12:00 a.m. server time tonight, our contest will run though the entire month of August. As all of you know, member submissions are what keeps this site going and ensures that we have the most up-to-date and best video game database out there. To commemorate our anniversary, we hold this annual contest to see who can "contribute" the most value to the site during the allotted period of time (*see official rules and description of contributions and points below).

So, here's how it works. From August 1st until August 31st, you make as many submissions as humanly possible. Our dedicated database staff will review the absurd amount of submissions, and at the end of it all, one of you gets a super sweet prize package, which includes your choice of $60 worth of gaming goodness. Essentially, you win a shopping spree (not to exceed $60 and items have to be game related) on GameGavel, eBay, or Amazon, and we pick up the tab. Of course, you'll also be the coolest kid in town as you strut around in your new, official RF Generation Ringer T-shirt!

It's hard to believe that our 50th episode is finally HERE!  This month Shawn (GrayGhost81) and Rich (singlebanana) take a stroll down memory lane to discuss some special moments over the last 50 episodes and take some time to thank their former co-hosts and special guests. And would Shawn's cuddly recommendation ultimately win Rich over? The answer to these questions and may more in this episode of the RF Generation Playcast. Our fourth game of 2018, was the true definition of a "cult classic." In this month's Playcast, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81) discuss that notoriously bawdy, foul-mouthed, platforming, red squirrel as they breakdown Conker's Bad Fur Day.  Known more in collector circles for its high price, adult content, potty humor, and movie references, the guys ultimately put its gameplay to the test.  Is this early 3-D platformer satisfying, or does it ignite controller chucking frustrations in the boys?  Which version of the game (N64, Xbox [Live & Reloaded], or Xbox One [Rare Replay Collection]) do the guys recommend most?  And does the price of this game justify picking up a copy or throwing your current copy up for sale while the market is high?  The answer to these questions and may more in this @#$%& episode of the RF Generation Playcast. Don't miss it!

Our 50th episode is NEXT and we want our listeners to send us an audio roast! Congrats, well wishes, and cheap shots are all welcome. According to the Playcast crew, they've knocked it out of the park with their January and February game picks this year. So, how did their March game fair?  In this month's Playcast, Rich (singlebanana), Shawn (GrayGhost81) and returning guest, Retro Fandango's own, Kevin (BuriedOnMars) discuss the nostalgia driven, hack 'n slash brawler Transformers: Devastation, which appeared on various 7th and 8th generation consoles. Not only do the guys review the game, but they also discuss the impact the Transformers animated series and toy-line had on their adolescence, including a very special segment dedicated to Transformers: The Movie. Is this game worth playing, or is it merely an effort to loose our purse strings with G1 nostalgia? Are the Playcast boys two for two in picking great titles this year?  Find out by listening to our discussion of our February 2018 playthrough,  Vandal Hearts, a tactical RPG on the original Sony Playstation.  In this month's Playcast, Rich (singlebanana) and Shawn (GrayGhost81) spend time discussing the intricate gameplay that makes Vandal Hearts so special. The guys also attempt to hash out the game's complex story, and chew over the game's graphics and sounds. Is this "cult classic" worthy of making its home in your PS1 library? Did Rich possibly purchase his greatest score of all time? And what the H, E, double hockey sticks is a "waifu?" You won't want to miss this episode of the RF Generation Playcast!
