That is the AMD768 southbridge chip. 

The Southbridge is not directly connected to the CPU, rather, the northbridge connects the southbridge to the CPU. For this reason the southbridge handles many of the slower devices like the PCI bus, IDE (SATA or PATA) controller, real time clock, BIOS memory, SMBus, and can also have integrated components such as Audio codec's etc.

Phalanx Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) nicknamed R2D2.

While in the Marine Corps, I spent some time on the USS Nassau and I remember being inside the ship when they tested the R2D2. I said something along the lines off "What the fuck is that?"
