I'd love to get my hands on a Laserdisc player and some laserdiscs, but they are just non existent around here.  I haven't seen one since they were still being sold at stores and even then it was really, really rare.

I have an extra player and some duplicate discs... Shipping might be expensive though.

There's a whole milk carton of them at the flea market store down here, but I've never seen a player around.

I think I have 3 players now.

They must have sold poorly around here, I've never seen one(nor any discs outside that one place)

I don't think I've ever seen a player either. There's usually a few discs floating around the Half-Price Books around here, but never seen a player in my life, I don't think.

No one else has realized that this was originally an April Fools thread?

EDIT
Also i loved this:
What?!?! you do know they hold ALOT less than dvds...
no they don't! I can put an entire dinner on a laser disc, but on a DVD you can just put a hamburger, but no fries.

I love me some good laserdiscs, picked up a laserdisc player a couple years back at my district rummage sale. I have a couple of good ones, texas chainsaw massacre, shawshank redemption, and big trouble in little china come to mind.

the problem with laserdisc is that they transmit a 4:3 picture in most cases, similar with VHS. even if the film you are watching is 2.35:1 ratio, it's going to appear as a thin rectangle inside of a 4:3 box inside of your 16:9 TV screen. At that point you might as well be watching it with binoculars.
