Hint for July's Game...
Fleach and I decided that since July is month seven and we think everyone should have a super time, there was really only one choice when it came to the game for July.  We will reveal the game as soon as someone guesses it.

Is it 7th Saga?

Gotta be 7th Saga...

Nope, good guess though...

Mega Man 7 or Final Fantasy VII?

Nope, Those don't have Super in the title...

Super Mario RPG?

That's the one!

Aw crap, I only have the SNES version of Lion King.

I guess that lets me out... Sad

Lion King, as we determined, isn't different enough between the platforms to merit comparison. I'll be playing it on SNES, since that's what I grew up on. Aladdin, on the other hand, is a completely different experience.

Super Mario RPG may be harder for some people to obtain. I love the game, but we'll see how many people we can get on board for that.

@Zagnorch P. Welinskivich II, Esq.: You can still take part playing the SNES Lion King. The differences between that and the Genesis version are pretty much just cosmetic. Hope to see you in the discussions.

@Shadow I wouldn't begrudge anyone playing the Virtual Console version if they can't obtain a physical copy.

@wildbil52: I might though Wink

No one tell Crabby that I can only play the Virtual Console version!

Why all platformers? Everyone knows platformers are for children, especially when they feature children's characters. I stopped playing games like this when I was 12. /troll

Sure they are, have a great day!

@aeroc:
If my roommate were put to this challenge, he would turn around and burn all the carts. He can't stand platformers. Tongue

We still doing Jungle Book as well, or is that "extra credit?"

@singlebanana: Whoops, just added it.

no love for the Castle of Illusion and Quackshot I see how you are Smiley

@douglie007:
It was originally for SNES. They had to draw a line at some point too.

@douglie007: We can tackle those in a future Playthrough. I'm sure those are great games.

I'm "saying hello" in this thread as confirmation of my joining this endeavor.

It's Super Mario RPG guys...sheesh, it's so obvious Tongue

@the_wizard_666: And then I read the rest of the comments...only saw the first couple before replying Tongue

Like many of the people who visit this site, I am a lifelong gamer who loves and appreciates classic gaming as well as the current generation. When I started collecting games, I realized that some of the stories of my collecting might be interesting, educational, or just plain funny. The stories that I share here are meant to entertain as well as inform and they are all 100% true, which is why I include pictures.
