As you may or may not know, Tondog is a huge fan of MGS4. If he could, he'd probably have Kojima's babies. Unfortunately, or fortunately for him, he is a guy, and such a thing is physically impossible. That said, lots of people bought MGS4, including Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. See, Yahztee does Zero Punctuation, which in the realm of the internet geared towards gamers is absolutely hilarious. Today, Yahtzee is reviewing Metal Gear Solid 4, and well... why don't you watch it for yourself.

So, what'd you think? Personally, I am part of the group not currently already entrenched in Metal Gear Solid, so I think I'll follow this advice and just not play the game. Not really my cup of tea anyways. But then, I don't drink tea. What about you? Did Yahtzee strike a nerve, or do you wholeheartedly agree?

If I'm not mistaken, that was Tondog sneaking outside the window of Croshaw's house towards the end of the review, wasn't it? Grin

I'm in the "Never played MGS" club either. Just never been interested in it, so I'll continue to stay away as well.

I'm a Zero Punctuation fan and a Metal Gear Solid fan. I find Yahztee entertaining even if I don't agree with his opinion, but without a PS3 and MGS4 I don't have an opinon on the game.

MGS 1 was, and always will be the best Metal Gear. I actually rather disliked MGS 2 for all its retarded characters, but then was blown away by the awesome gameplay and engaging story of 3.

4 looks amazing to me, and as much as I enjoy Yahtzee's reviews you must take them with a grain of salt. He seems to be always trying rather hard to be a witty jackass and hardly ever gets to the meat of a game, rather babbles about poop and what he dislikes in the world.

I used to watch my bro play MGS years ago (PS1?). But never got into it myself. I tried watching some gameplay videos and started to dig my nails into my desk. Could well be the most amazing game in the world ever but I am not into that style of genre. Hope it's great for all those that like the series.

YAHTZEE, YOU JERK!!!!! Sad

I actually did like his video, as usual. MGS is definitely a polarizing series depending on what you think about cutscenes and the story, and I understand that it is not a series that everyone will like.

@UNFORGIVINGPAIN:
Go buy the 80GB bundle with MGS 4. You owe it to yourself.

I lol'd...

He has a point about waiting for ever to play. My friend's brother beat the game in one sitting, and said that it is about 12 hours of watching, 4-5 hours of playing. Talk about a load of doodle.

@logical123:
It's not that bad if you actually enjoy the story.

@Tondog:
I would love to go buy the 80GB bundle with MGS 4, but I have bigger purchases first.

to buy list
1. A House
2. Large HDTV
3. Then an Xbox 360 and/or PS3

Although I am a huge MGS fan, Yahtzee does actually have a point about the enormous amount of story in those games. I like how he's able to provide a different viewpoint on critically acclaimed games.

This is where my thoughts go and are never heard from again.

Well, maybe not, but this is the repository for all of my published thoughts and rantings. It'll make my day if you find at least 10% of it amusing and enjoyable to read.

Sorry for the other 90%.
