2007 is dead. Long live 2007. Looking back, there were some nice games.
Bioshock,
The Orange Box,
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass,
Mass Effect,
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune,
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters- certainly, there were some good games that came out. But yeah, such things are now in the past. The question now becomes what are you looking forward to in 2008? I've got a few games that I am looking forward to, read about them after the jump.

Team Fortress 2 eventually got released, right? RIGHT?! No matter, I am confident that at some time this year that
Spore will be released, and it will be totally great. Choirs of angels will trumpet its arrival. I'll create my race of mutant supermen that take over the universe- because I can. I'm evil bastard, ain't I? Fear me, mortals. Fear me and my mutant supermen.
In all seriousness, Spore is certainly a game to look forward. As it is being developed under the watchful eye of Will Wright, I am completely confident that this game will be a winner. The concept is genius. Start at the primordial ooze and grow your organism to greatness. Decide what path you want your organism to take. Be a god. Sounds like a fun, engaging experience to me. Or perhaps it will be Darwinism at work. Time shall tell.
LittleBigPlanetSure, the game oozes cute. But there is more to the game than cute. It's sort of like the Nibblonians of Futurama. Only instead of a huge desire to eat,
LittleBigPlanet allows for customization out the wahzoo. Build what you want, how you want, see how it affects other objects. Personally, it looks like a blast, and it seems like something that should be a sleeper hit for the PS3.
I know, something good for the PS3, who'd have thought? Certainly I wouldn't. Haha- that was a joke. Deep breath there, Tony. But
LittleBigPlanet certainly has the charm and concept necessary to be a hit. Vibrant design, sandbox mode, and a theme song by The Go! Team, I am definitely looking forward to this charm, and I hope you are too.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[img align=right width=200]http://www.rfgeneration.com/images/repository/1577148874477ae1ac5a07cSSBB.jpg[/img]I really wish that this game came out in 07. Sadly, it was delayed stateside to February, 08. Sigh, I was really looking forward to playing this game over Christmas break. Oh well. I'll find time to play it during my quarter from hell, of course I will.
So, I imagine that if you did not enjoy the Smash Bros of old you likely won't enjoy
Brawl. However, I imagine that most people probably enjoyed the game. What will make this game better than Melee? Here are a few reasons. First, let's look at the stages that have been released. Pictochat? Warioware? Rumble Falls!? Certainly, these levels kick major ass. Next, let's talk about stage builder- that's right, you can build your own stages. You can apparently even share them via the god forsaken friend codes. **shudders** Okay, maybe not that, but yeah, you can submit them to Nintendo so that they are featured. Pretty cool- sort of like a new stage a day. Exciting times. Speaking of those friend codes, **shudders** there happens to be
online Brawl for this game. Sweet. Finally I can beat up on eight year olds legally. Sweet. Lastly, something that is a treat probably only to me.
The music. I love game music, and this game is a fan service when it comes to music. Such great songs and remixes. They are truly amazing, and if you haven't checked out the music yet, I recommend that you do.
