Wow it's been awhile since I have been on this site. It's looking very good and I'm going to try to become active on it again as I am getting back into the collecting game. For now I'm just going to focus on these Collection Update post to keep track of my new pick ups. I will add pictures some time later. Hope you enjoy!
SNES - $7
It's funny cause I woke up on the day I found this and was thinking, "Man I would love to play some SNES if only I had one." found this one at Goodwill. Only problem is no A/V cord or Power cord. If any one has any of these for sell let me know. -------------
Super Mario World (SNES) - $2
Get ready for some crazy news: I have never played past level one of this game. I have wanted to for so long but never have got around to buying it. Can't wait to play this one when I get cords for the SNES -------------
Super Mario All Stars (SNES) - $2
Very, very happy about this pick up cause I have wanted to play SMB2 for a long time now and can't beat the price. -------------
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (SNES) - $2
Not a big DK fan so I'm not sure if I will ever put this in but none the less good to have it in my collection -------------
Elevator Action (NES) - $2
Have no ideal about this one but can't pass up a $2 NES game -------------
Maniac Mansion (NES) - $2
Same as above ------------- Pokemon Silver (GB) - FREE
Nothing like finding a game you lost years ago in a box downstairs haha ------------- Super Mario (G&W) - FREE
Someone I knew was going to toss it and I saw it at the last second. I'm up to two G&W now.
That's it for this post
Well it's been awhile, but I am back with the site after moving to a new state so I can get back to writing about games for you guys. I thought I would start off with telling you guys about an update to my collection:
Doom 3 Collectors Edition - XB - $9.99 - Complete *First Doom Game*
So I have been wanting this game for a long time now and found the Collectors Edition at Gamestop for $10. I am about 25% into it right now, and while it is not as scary as I want it to be, it is still fun.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dead Or Alive Ultimate - XB - $9.99 - Complete *First DoA Game*
So I was dying for a good fighting game and thought I would give DoA a try. DoA 1 sucks IMO. I have never been one to not play a game over the graphics, but it is so dated I can't stand it. DoA 2 is good, but with a very small roster and short story, I am left wanting more. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jade Empire Collectors Edition - XB - FREE - Complete
So I have been hearing about Jade Empire for a long time now and love Bioware, so I found the Collectors Edition at the GS B2g1F event on the XB games. I have only played for about 30 Mins, but it is an great game so far. Can't wait to get into it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, we are back! Feels good to see the homepage again. So why not start up with a new weekly article, Shadowfortes 100 Best Games of All Time. So I will post 5 a week. Here we go!
100 – Sonic The Hedgehog (Genesis, Game Cube)
So, I was never a big Sega fan when I was a kid, because Nintendo ruled my house. I think the first time I played a Genesis was after I got my PS1, so I was a bit behind. One game though that will always stick out will be Sonic. It had something that Mario would never have: Speed. It was fast and had amazing colors and graphics for it's time. And IMO, Genesis had the best controller of that time, so that helped.
99 – Phozon (Arcade, PS1)
So many things I could say about this game. The only thing the strikes me as odd though is that everyone I have asked about this game has never played it or only played it on PS1. I can also say that this is one heck of a hard game to play. But the awesome tactful game play and replay value make me keep coming back for more.
98 – Burger Time (Arcade, NES, Game Boy)
Burger Time spawned a whole new type of game play for us that played it on the NES. Who thought making burgers by walking over them could be so much fun? With funny, yet hard to fight hot dogs, falling patty's and a little chef, how could you go wrong?
97 – Rock Band (360,PS2,PS3,Wii)
What's Rock Band you say? Take the GH games, whip out four friends and Rock Band, and feel like you are on your first world tour. Rock Band steps it up to the next level with one of the best party games of all time, yet it is also a great single player game. With the options to create your band members, play online, and download new tracks each week, this game is a must have.
96 – Dig Dug (Arcade, PS1)
Dig Dug is not a game I can just pick up and play. Matter of fact, I need to be in the mood for it. So why is it on my list? Because once you are in the mood to play it, you can't put it down. This game is so much fun, you just can't get enough. I mean, whats better the blowing air into a dragon until it blows up? Priceless.
We all knew it was coming. Sega Master System will be added as the next VC system over here. Here is what they have to say:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that Wonder Boy and Fantasy Zone will be the first wave of many SEGA Master™ System titles that will soon be available for download on the Wii™ Shop Channel. Prices start at 400 Wii™ Points for SEGA Master System titles. Wii Points can be purchased online or at select retailers at an MSRP of $20 for 2,000 points.
WonderBoy - As Tom-Tom the Wonder Boy, it's up to you to rescue your girlfriend Tanya from the vile clutches of a monster that has kidnapped her. To do so, you must navigate through a series of worlds in a race against time to reach your goal, as you battle off foes and collect fruit that will add to the amount of time you have to complete your mission. You can also collect helpful power-ups from various eggs, but make sure to avoid the "bad"ť eggs and poisonous mushrooms that sap your precious vitality. Find the magic doll in each level that opens up the hidden areas, and make it to the very end to rescue your one true love!
Fantasy Zone - Take command of the spaceship Opa-Opa and blast your way through various fantastical levels as you try to take out all the enemy bases in each stage. Once you've destroyed the bases, you'll have to beat the stage boss in order to move on to the next level. By using your guns and bombs wisely, you'll be able to take down your enemies and explore each of the crazy environments in this side-scroller. You can also buy upgraded weapons for your ship by accessing the shop. Various SEGA games through the years have referenced the Opa-Opa - now you can play the game that started it all!
The Wii Shop Channel serves as the Wii's online storefront, where visitors can redeem Wii Points to download games and other items. Users need a high-speed Internet connection to access the Wii Shop Channel. More Virtual Console games will come available every Monday following launch. Users buy Wii Points at retail or with a credit card online from the Wii Shop Channel and redeem their Wii Points to download the classic games." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I never had a chance to play SMS, so this might be fun. And only 400 points for a game is not bad.
The new upcoming Wiiplay title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a King, will feature DLC.
The DLC so far will be new costumes that will be available for Leo and Chancellor Chime, such as a pirate set. You will also be able to download housing to gain more races such as the Yukes, Lilties or Selkies. Prices have not has a set price, but will be around 100-300 respectevely.
I am all for DLC on any game one the Wii after the Rockband news. And $3 is not bad for a whole new race in your game. Now all we need is an HD...

Well, I have decided to take the the road towards move watching/game playing bliss. I am going to turn my Game Room/Bed Room into a Home Theater. I will be posting once a month about this adventure and hope to get it finished by this June.
I knew I had to do this yesterday when I was playing Halo 2 on my small 20 Inch TV. I thought to myself "Would it not be awesome to turn this place into a dream theater? Have a big projector screen, great sound, and the smell of popcorn in the air!"
So my journey starts. I will be posting my list of items that I plan to get sometime this week. If anyone has ever built a room like this, or has advice, let me know.
Shadowforte
Well, it's been awhile sense my last post. I do believe that was about my Nintendo Wii. Let me share with you what I have got sense then.
PS1:
Final Fantasy Chronicles
*First PS1 Final Fantasy Game
This is a so/so pick up. I got a black label mint for $10, so I am happy I picked itn up just so I can say I have a Final Fantasy in my PS1 collection, but I am not to sure about fun this one is. First, there is the Final Fantasy game (which I can not remember which one it is to save my life right now) that is, how should I say, a little boring to me. I will be waiting for the remake for the DS before I start this little adventure. Chrono Trigger on the other hand is great. I have always found it to be one of my favorite game. On the SNES that is. The loading times on this game a very long, and might get on your nerves very fast.
Well thats it. Ouch, I know. A few weeks without posting and this is what I have to show for it. I should be picking up some more games this Friday, so look for a post there.
The princess is in another castle!~
Shadowforte
Well I sold a lot of my collection. I decided it was time to start over. And, here is what I got:
Nintendo Wii: *First Wii* *First console of this gen*
Let me start by saying if you are going to get this system, make sure you have another system with tons of games you like in your set up already. Don't get me wrong, the Wii is awesome, but the lack of games gets to you very fast. I got my home and opened the box, played Wii sports for a while, and while it was fun I wished I had bought a game. Then the next day I went to rent Zelda, and I will say it is awesome. Everyone says it does not feel like a real Zelda, but it's just all the OoT fanboys finding something to wine about. If you have a Wii or GCN, go try this game out. I ten bought Metroid Prime 3 (Coming up later in the post). Now that there is no games I want to play besides Super Paper Mario, I am left with nothing to play. I am looking forward to SMG, Brawl, REUC, and Fire Emblem, but that's it for this year. I can say while I am not upset at my buy, I will be picking up a 360 very soon.
Metroid Prime 3
Well all I can say is this game gets the GotY from me. Great graphs, voice acting, gameplay, ect. Go pick this one up.
Well I picked up some news games.
.Hack// Vol 1:. Infection (PS2) - First Hack Game
Well this is my first jump into the Hack games. A lot of people complain about the battle system, but I found it better then GU (I have played a little of GU at my friends house) myself. The game has okay graphics, but it shines in the depth of the story. I got it for $10. Go pick this one up.
Mega Man Anniversary Collection (PS2) - First Mega Man Game On PS2
This is a collection of Mega Man 1-8. You can get it on the cheap now, so if you are into NES games or the Mega Man games, pick it up. I will warn you, these games are beyond hard. I got it for $5
Medal Of Honor Rising Sun (PS2)
What can I say? It is a MOH. The graphics suck, but out of all of them this one is my fav. Got it for $5
Well hello my fellow collectors. This is my first of many post to come. This is where I will be updating what games I am playing, along with new finds. Lets start this right off.
Games I am playing:
Destroy All Humans! PS2: Fun at first, but after awhile it gets, shall we say, retarded? Right now I am off to get some more DNA so I can move on to my next mission.
Game I have bought this week:
DDRMAX Final 6th Mix PS2 JPN:
- First Import - First PS2 Import - First DDR (These little lines are "first" for me. As in, this is the first time I have own a game like this.)
I was over at my friends house and saw this game. It was disc only, so I left it alone, but after thinking about it, I asked him how much he wanted for it, and he said $3. So I bought it from him and printed off a cover online and now I have it on my self.
Destroy All Humans! PS2:
Got it at the same place I got DDR. He wanted $7 for it, talked him down to $6 (lol).
