NOTE: This list contains MAJOR Spoilers for many RPG Games. Proceed at your own risk. You have been warned.
RPG Villains...The bad guys that try to make our lives a living hell while we play. They are all motivated by different things. Those things range from revenge, insanity, or something else. However, every once in a while, one comes along that just doesn't fit the bill of RPG Villain. Today, I'm here to list 5 of them. Take note, they can be lame for ANY reason at all, whether it be because they're cheap in battle, or just look stupid. Here they are:
Number 5 Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII
Everyone who knows me knows that I don't exactly like Final Fantasy VII, and it's main antagonist is one of the reasons why. The reason why is because he's just generally uninspired, in my opinion anyway. He's mad because his mother was killed, but rather than think things through like the sensible Hero that he's made out to be at the start, he goes insane and decides to kill everyone with a Meteor. Too generic for me. I'll stick to slaying Chrono Cross's Time Devourer, thanks.
Number 4 Ashnard from Fire Emblem 9
That's Ashnard from Fire Emblem 9. He's such a LOSER! Yes, he is strong, but there's a major flaw to his design: He's not a monster, in the physical sense. When one plays Fire Emblem, they are expecting a big, bad, monster of some sort as the Final Boss. This guy is not a Monster. How anticlimactic.
Number 3 Mankar Camaron from Oblivion
Yet another total loser, Mankar Camaron is "essentially" the main antagonist from Oblivion. He's not strong, he's weak. He's not scary, he's generic. He's not even that evil. He's just...simple. He never even gives a truly specific reason for doing what he does, other than to be a nuisance. He's in the same category as Ashnard, not being a monster and all that.
Number 2 Thon from Shadowrun
Okay, look. I like Shadowrun. In fact, I love Shadowrun. It's one of my favorite RPGs, but I really hate it's final boss. Thon is just plain stupid. He's overpowered, and you can't even damage him. In fact, to even hurt him, you need help from a Dragon you saved earlier in the game. That's all fine and dandy, but his story is dumb as hell. He's an elemental beast whose summoner was killed, so to gain a physical body, he collects artifacts from tombs. What the hell? How is this jackass even a real threat in a society full of guns and magic?
Number 1 Neo Dhaos from Tales of Phantasia
SON! OF! A! BITCH!!! I hate Neo Dhaos so much!! This freak is the Final Boss in the Super Famicom Version of Tales of Phantasia, and he is the strongest, cheapest, ugliest son of a bitch I have ever encountered in an RPG! He is absolutely relentless in attacking, and when he does stop, if he ever does that is, he turns invincible. The spell used to harm an earlier incarnation of him becomes useless here, and you have to rely only on luck to stop the asshole. For what it's worth, his difficulty was toned down greatly in later versions of the game, but that's not enough for me to forgive the developers for placing this jerk in the game. I am being completely honest here, I had to cheat to kill him, and THAT is why this jerk is the lamest RPG Villain ever.
That's it for now. I hope you enjoyed reading this list. Also, as always, this list is an opinion. Your opinion is subject to difference.
The RPG (Role Playing Game) is one of the many genres of games out there, and it is, without a doubt, my favorite genre. From the Epic Gameplay to the Intriguing Stories, these are my favorite ones. Here we go!
King's Field
King's Field is a First Person RPG for the PS1. Perhaps it is best known as the First (Second in Japan) Predecessor to the immensely popular PC/PS3/360 RPG Dark Souls. However, this game plays much differently from Dark Souls. As I mentioned before, it's a First Person RPG, and while it isn't the prettiest thing in existence, it's Gameplay is solid.
Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time
Ah, Final Fantasy. Once the most popular RPG Series EVER, it fell off it's throne a while back, and has been going downhill ever since. That doesn't mean they're all bad though. Echoes of Time is one such example. While not the most well known in the once beloved series, it's still quite the fun Action-RPG. You create an Avatar to use, and you can customize they're skills in pretty much any way that you want. Although it's unusual for Final Fantasy to do something like that, it was a welcome change.
Fire Emblem Awakening
Fire Emblem Awakening is the latest title in--What? You say you've read this already? Oh. Alrighty, I'll keep it short then. Fire Emblem + Avatar Creation + Epic Story + Amazing Gameplay = WIN! Even though it can't top a certain game on this list (You'll see it soon), it's still amazing.
Makai Toushi Saga
Now we're talking! Makai Toushi Saga is a remake of Final Fantasy Legend for the Game Boy, one of my favorite Game Boy Games ever, and an epic RPG in it's own right. Recently Fan-Translated, Makai Toushi Saga is about an Adventurer who decides to climb a Tower to Heaven, to find out exactly what's up there, as all before the Adventurer have failed. Epic Story, refreshing Gameplay, and more, this game is one you MUST try.
Chrono Cross
Chrono Cross is the most EPIC. RPG. EVER. Period. With an emotional story, unique (but brilliant RPG Gameplay), amazing Characters, and more, no RPG can top this one, not even the mighty Final Fantasy VII. In fact, dare to compare: GameSpot's Score of FF7: 9.5 GameSpot's Score of CC: 10 But don't they're word for it, take mine. As a person who has experienced this game many times over, I never get tired of it. It is, and always will be, my favorite RPG ever. Not only that, it's my favorite game in general. Sure, you can argue that it was confusing, but it's not if you play Chrono Trigger and Radical Dreamers (Japan Only, Fan Translation available). So what are you waiting for? Go play it!

Now, here's an interesting one. 1942 is a Shmup released by Capcom in 1986. It is set in the Pacific theater of World War II. The goal is to reach Tokyo and destroy the entire Japanese air fleet. The player pilots a plane dubbed the "Super Ace". The player has to shoot down enemy planes; to avoid enemy fire, the player can perform a roll or "loop-the-loop". During the game the player may collect a series of power-ups, one of them allowing the plane to be escorted by two other smaller fighters in a Tip Tow formation.
There's actually a Program in the Power Glove for this specific game. When you load it, your hand becomes the plane. By pulling your arm backwards, the plane moves downwards. By moving it straight ahead, the plane moves upwards. The Turbo-Type features of the Glove work really well with this game, allowing you to shoot down enemies quickly. It's also easy to move around, but dodging enemies may become difficult as your arm gets tired from moving around so much.
All the same, 1942 is really fun to play with the Power Glove. If you want to try it yourself, load Program 5 and off you go!
But wait! There's more to this entry!

Ah, The Legend of Zelda...a game we all know and love. It's fun, it's big, and it's become a classic. But how does it play with a Power Glove? Here's a little math for you: Power Glove + Legend of Zelda = No.
Why, you may ask? For one, Legend of Zelda requires accurate movements on the player's part to fight monsters and such, and since the Power Glove's centering features are kind of messed up, it makes it 3x as hard.
Even an Octorok is life threatening while playing with the Power Glove. I haven't been hit by one in YEARS, and using the Power Glove changed that. Still, it was definitely a unique experience using one with this game.
While I do love the Power Glove, this is one game that you do NOT want to try with a Power Glove. After trying it for myself and getting owned by a freaking CAVE (don't ask), I must say that this is one game better left to controllers.
Still, if you MUST try it with a Power Glove, it's best to use Program 1 for it. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did, but I personally don't think it's a good idea. The game is hard enough without using one.
Anyway, that's it for this entry! Thanks for reading! Keep an eye out for the next entry!
