Now, THIS is a game. Super Glove Ball has you guiding a robotic hand through a 3D Maze. In each room, there are tiles you can break. They are above you, below you, to your left, to your right, and even right in front of you. To get to another room, you have to use your hand to grab a ball and throw it in the direction you want to break the tiles you want. You can also use your index finger to shoot lasers, which also breaks tiles. It can also kill enemies.

Me, I really enjoyed playing this with my Power Glove. Despite being an NES Game, it's in complete 3D. You can move your hand towards the TV to move the robotic hand further into the room, and pull it back to bring it back in. Wherever you move your hand, the robotic hand follows your movements. Nowadays, this is probably easy to pull off, but back then, it SCREAMED innovation.

So why is this game hated by so many people? I don't know. This is clearly a fun game, I just think people hated it because it involved the Power Glove, which to this day, gets a bad rap. I read a review of this game by someone on GameFAQs, and they didn't exactly provide valid points to hating it.

Anyway, that's it for this entry. Thanks for reading! Cheesy

Bad Street Brawler. I received this game in the Mail today, and I read that people hated it. I honestly do not see why. It's a really fun, and somewhat unique Beat'em Up.

One of the Two Games developed specifically for the Power Glove, Bad Street Brawler is unique because you get two different moves for every level. It also lets you fight a Gorilla! Come on! In what other game can you fight a Gorilla?! Cheesy

However, the game is kind of...loud. It has lots of loud colors, and one move makes it look like the Main Character is...Well, to be blunt about it, "touching" the enemy.

I didn't let that bother me for long though, as the game is really fun, and it's easy, which I welcomed with open arms after playing many harder games recently.

One annoying thing about it though, is the timer. It stars counting down before you can even move the Character, and if it runs out, your health starts going down in a rapid manner.

Nonetheless, this is a great game, and you should try it whether you have a Power Glove or not. Cheesy

A long, long time ago, a game called Tetris was released to the public. Created by Russian Game Designer Alexey Pajitnov, this game became a worldwide success and phenomenon. The object of the game was to drop blocks to form a line, thus getting rid of the line and making more space in the playing area, and also making the blocks fall faster in the process. It was easy to pick up, but really hard to finish. It's been released on most, if not EVERY console, and to this day, remains popular.

However, one such version of Tetris, titled "TETRIS: The Soviet Mind Game", was lost to time. Why? Here's the story...

Back during the Golden Age of Gaming (The NES Days), a Company called Tengen existed. At this time, the NES had lockout technology to prevent unlicensed games from running on it. Tengen found a way around it, and released several unlicensed games for the console. At some point, Atari Games created TETRIS: The Soviet Mind Game, and Tengen published it. An immediate hit, the game was expected to sell hundreds of thousands of copies...

Unfortunately, Nintendo's own version Tetris was released, and they got pissed at Tengen, sued them, and won. 100,000 Copies of Tengen's Version sold, the game was recalled, and all the copies were destroyed.

As for how many copies exist today, I don't know. I do know, however, that this game is one of the Holy Grails of the NES. Complete copies sell for really high prices.

As for *why* Nintendo got mad, I personally think they were jealous of Tengen's possible chances of success, and didn't want anyone interfering.

The game was only on the shelf for a month before being pulled.

Well, that's it for this sad story. Tengen and it's version of Tetris has since been forgotten by many. If you own a copy of this game, cherish it. It's a really special game, and I would love to own it.

OK, everyone, here's the deal:

My goal is to collect and play 100 different NES Games! With a total of 52 so far, I need 48 more to complete my goal!

How do I plan to do this, you ask? I have absolutely no idea. I'm hoping to score a lot of games through trades, but if I absolutely HAVE to buy them, I will.

Anyway, forgive the short post. I just wanted to let you all know what my ultimate goal was.

Well, I'm off for now. Wish me luck. Smiley

(Sigh) I'm not gonna lie. This Blog of mine has seriously been lacking in quality. Why? Because I can't think of anything interesting to write. I'm not sure why. Maybe I've got writer's block or something. Either way, this is really bugging me, and I started to notice it after I switched my focus from Nintendo Games, so I've decided that I'm going back to Nintendo Stuff.

.......Don't look at me like that. It's my blog, and if I wanna switch back to keep my readers interested, I will. Truth be told, I've always wanted to entertain people, and I feel that this blog helps me do that at times, and it seemed like I had more readers when I was covering Nintendo Stuff 24/7. So...yeah.

Also, I have a request: If anyone has any NES Stuff they don't use anymore, and would like to trade, please PM me. I'll take ANYTHING that has to do with the NES, from old Nintendo Power Magazines to Robots. Tongue

Thank you. Smiley

Animal Crossing: A popular game, right? Of course it is. It's fun, and it obviously keeps people entertained...except me. Now, don't get me wrong. I love these games, and the first time I played on the Gamecube, I kept playing for weeks. When the DS Version came out, I played it for a while too, but when the Wii Version came out, I couldn't get into it that much.

This brings me to the big question: Why can't I continue playing it when I start a new game? I mean, there's a good game here, and all the pieces are in the right places, but I just can't keep playing. Is it because it kind of forces you to keep playing to keep your Town looking good? Is it because I saw the Credits and I considered it beat? I just don't understand this. Anyway, what brought all this up? I was watching a Flash Movie, and it reminded me of Animal Crossing. Anyway, I could use some help here. If anyone has played any of the 3 (4 in Japan) Games in the series, could you please shout out in the comments what it was that kept you coming back for more? Thank you!

Also, Ninja Gaiden for the NES kicks ass, but it's really tough. I love it!

Let's face it: NES Games are TOUGH. Whether they provide a real challenge, or are just cheap, the majority of them are tough. Why? I'm not really sure. Sometimes I wish it was still that way. I feel that many games nowadays appeal to Casual Gamers only when it comes to difficulty. Don't get me wrong now. I know there are some tough ones today, like Demon's Souls for the PS3. Anyway, I'd like some assistance here. I want to compose a list of the toughest, most punishing NES Games out there, and that includes NTSC-J and PAL games. Here's some I personally know of:

Contra
The Adventures Of Bayou Billy
Little Nemo The Dream Master
Super Mario Bros. 2 (J)
Final Fantasy 2 (J)
The Legend of Zelda 2 (US)

That's only a few off the top of my head. If you can think of any more (and I'm sure you will), please shout them out in the comments. Thank you! Cheesy

Ah, the RPG...my favorite Genre. Among them, I have been playing the Dragon Warrior (Now known as Dragon Quest) for years now, and I've greatly enjoyed each one I've played. Anyway, this particular entry is about the first one in the series, Dragon Warrior.

You play the role of an unnamed Hero, who is the descendant of Erdrick, a Hero of the Past. Your goal is to recover the Orb of Light, and destroy the Dragon Lord. Sound easy? It's not!! Cheesy

You have to do all this stuff, like collect items, rescue a Princess, and kill a Golem-Like Monster before you can go and battle the Dragon Lord, but fear not, for it's damn good fun doing it all, and it's well worth your time, despite the high difficulty of it all.

So, why do this at all? Because it's fun. For more fun, here's some Trivia on the game:

-In Final Fantasy I for the NES, there is a Gravestone marked "Here Lies Erdrick". This exists because Square and Enix hadn't become one yet, and were rivals back then.

-There is a Remake for the Super Famicom and Game Boy Color.

-Erdrick is actually the Protagonist of Dragon Warrior III.

-An Episode of Captain N: The Game Master revolved around this game.

Also, if you look at Screenshots of the Japanese Version VS. the US Version, you'll see that some graphics were changed. Besides that, the Japanese Version used Passwords, and the US Version used Battery Backed-Up Saves.

That's all for now. I hope you enjoyed reading this entry!

Have you ever found yourself playing a Game that was so good, you just didn't want it to ever end? Then, it ends at the worst possible point? I know I have. Then, I found Neverwinter Nights 2.

Having recently purchased Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum, I quickly found this game to be different from the others. With a feature that lets you download tens of thousands of user-created adventures, and create your own, I honestly think that this may be a never-ending adventure.

What makes Neverwinter Nights 2 so good is, for one, it's made by the same company that made the highly successful Knights of the Old Republic 2 for the Xbox and PC. Another good thing about it is that it takes place in the Dungeons & Dragons Universe, which allows all sorts of customization.

As for the gameplay, it plays a lot like KOTOR 2, using similar character interaction, combat, and choices that effect all kinds of things in the game world.

One thing I don't care too much for in NWN 2 though, is the music. It's just not that good to me, but knowing this game, there's probably some way to alter the music using the toolset.

So, if you asked me what kind of score I'd give Neverwinter Nights 2, it would, without a doubt, be 11 out of 10. It's THAT good. Although I'm only 2 Hours in, I'm sure there's much more to discover in the world of NWN 2.

Thanks for reading!

Did I mention I still love my Power Glove? So much in fact, that I was able to acquire a BOXED one for the Famicom. Granted, I'm a little worried, as the Famicom's Controllers are hard-wired to the thing, and it uses a special expansion port for other accessories. This brings me to the question: Will it use regular controller ports, or the special expansion port? You may be thinking: "If your worried about it, then why did you buy it?". It was a really good price, that's why. Anyway, I can just get a Famicom if it uses the special port. Besides, the Famicom has exclusives that weren't released in the US, which would prompt more stories from me on this Blog. Smiley

On another note, I'll be posting my updated NES Collection Pictures soon, possibly in the next entry.

Oh, and Final Fantasy XIV does not suck. Wink

Hey all, I'm back, and this time I have a big entry for everyone. We'll start with my Glove of Power...

Yes, I'm still using this thing. Not as much as I could, mind you, but I AM using it, and I still love it, despite the pain it puts in my arm from time to time. As I mentioned in an earlier entry, it's not the most comfortable thing in the world, but I absolutely love it, and it was worth every penny. Now, if only I could master Punch-Out and Super Mario Bros. with it.

Next, Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 is a Mass Defect. I'm so sick of waiting for the Patch that I'm just going to get the PC Version. Seriously, how long has it been now? Three weeks? Come on, people! How long does it take to get a freaking patch out to the people?! Killzone 3's Open Beta got it's patch after day one! Bah! Anyway, I could rant forever about this, but I won't.

Now, onto the subject of Video Game Movies...Do they really suck, or are big time critics just morons? I'm going to go with the latter. I've always hated it when people judge books by they're covers. Really pisses me off to no end. Take the Super Mario Bros. Movie for example. It's not bad. People just listened to the critics instead of actually going to see it, and it got a bad reputation because of that. Now, when you think of Video Game Movies, you probably think of the name "Uwe Boll". I've never seen any of the movies he's directed, but I SERIOUSLY doubt they're as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Honestly, why can't these damn critics just let people be creative? There's nothing wrong with that!

Ahem...On a side note, I just bought several PC RPGs from Amazon.com. They are: Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum, Baldur's Gate Collection, and Icewind Dale Collection. That's gotta be at least 200+ Hours of gaming right there! Cheesy

Anyway, that's it for now. Also, has anyone seen the 1994 live action film adaption of Double Dragon? Without spoiling it, can anyone who has seen it shout out in the comments if it's any good? Thanks!

Excuse the bad title, but I love the game I based that title off of. Smiley

But seriously, I have been REALLY busy lately, but fear not, for I am still alive. (No pun intended).

So, what exactly have I been doing? Lots of freelance work and hanging out with friends. It's been pretty hectic, but I'm back now.

Now, onto gaming matters: I have been playing games from almost every generation, hence the title of this post. I started out with Punch-Out on the NES, and I played it using my power glove. My arm STILL hurts!

Next up, I decided to give the infamous Shaq-Fu for Genesis a try. Now, bear with me here, and please forgive me, but I did not think it was that bad. Now, it's not like it was Game of the Year, but it was decent.

What game next? Capcom's Aladdin for SNES. I know what your thinking, Movie games are crap, but NOT when Capcom makes them. This was one fun Platformer.

The next game on my list was Virtua Fighter Kids for the Saturn, and out of all the ones I played, this one was the worst. It felt unfinished for some reason, and neither me, or my friend could get into it.

Gamecube time! Metroid Prime 2 rules, and I'm actually still working on it! Here's hoping I get through it without much trouble!

PS3...I was playing Mass Effect 2, until I read about a Save Corruption Bug, so here I am, two weeks later, waiting for the freaking patch! Hurry up already!

Anyway, that's about it for now. Oh, and no Sprite Comic update yet. All this has kept me really busy. Next time for sure!

Posted under Shadowrun, VideoGames, TabletopRPG

So, you want to hear a Story, eh? One about Stealth, Deception, Guns, Elves, Orcs, and a Cyber Matrix? Then you've come to the right place. Where to begin...

Shadowrun was developed and published by FASA Corporation from 1989 until early 2001, when FASA closed its doors and the property was transferred to WizKids, which was founded by people from FASA. It started as a Tabletop RPG.

The Shadowrun world is cross-genre, incorporating elements of both cyberpunk and urban fantasy. Unlike in a purely cyberpunk game, in the Shadowrun world, magic returns in 2011. Among other things, this causes humankind to split into subtypes, also known as metatypes. Some of these metatypes take the form of common fantasy races. Likewise, some animals have turned into familiar monsters of past fantasy and lore and both monsters and human magicians have regained magical powers. By the second half of the 21st century, in the time the game is set, these events are accepted as commonplace. Man, machine, and magic exist in a world where the amazing is among the most common and technology has entered into every facet of human (and metahuman) life.

There's more to Shadowrun though. It also had 4 Video Game releases, each one being developed by a different company:

1993 Shadowrun (Beam Software, SNES)
1994 Shadowrun (BlueSky Software, Genesis/Mega Drive)
1996 Shadowrun (Group SNE, Sega/Mega CD)
2007 Shadowrun (FASA Interactive, PC and Xbox 360)

Each game, being developed by different companies, had very different Gameplay, with the Genesis Version being cited as being closest to the original Tabletop RPG. It's also my personal favorite. Anyway, here's a brief synopsis for each game.

The first Shadowrun Game was released for the SNES, and it...it wasn't very good, at least not in my opinion. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. It felt like I should be playing with a SNES Mouse, as opposed to a controller. I couldn't even get past the beginning. It does however, have the honor of being the first Shadowrun Video Game, so I guess that's something...maybe.

Now we're talking! This is my favorite game in the series, and for good reason! As I mentioned before, this one is the most faithful to the Tabletop RPG, and it's just plain fun to play! I can't say enough good things about this game! I wish it hadn't ended! Plenty of sidequests, a cool main quest, some good gameplay variety, and then some! I would rant on, but it would take forever, so I won't.

Shadowrun for the Se...Mega CD. Why the Mega CD? Because it was only released in Japan. I know absolutely NOTHING about this game, nor could I find any screenshots for it. Sorry about that.

Several years after the release of the Mega CD Version of Shadowrun, it returned to the Video Game world for one more round, this time as an FPS. For whatever reason, many people absolutely hate this game, but I thought it was pretty cool myself, and it's not like it's unfun. Thanks to it's unfair judgement though, it was the last Video Game in the series. Stupid critics. They probably didn't play the game for 5 Minutes before casting judgement on it.

So, what happened to the Shadowrun Tabletop RPG? As far as I know, it's been struggling for sales lately. I doubt it's even being made anymore, which is pretty sad. There was also supposed to be another Shadowrun Video Game in the 90s, but it was cancelled.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading!
