'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the--

Izret: Oh damn it Redd, not another Christmas Story!

Redd: Yes, Izret, another Christmas Story. Smiley

Bickman: Every year, Redd. Every freakin' year.

Redd. Yep.

Bickman: (Sigh)

Slackur: Oh, come on guys. Yes, last year's story was painful, but it wasn't THAT bad.

Shadow Kisuragi (Shadow): What happened?

Slackur: He told us the story of how Coleco conquered the Gaming World.

Shadow: ......What?

Zagnorch: He's insane. He has nothing but tall tales and other stupid crap.

Redd: I am not insane, and all my stories are true. You guys are just jealous that I get to go on all sorts of adventures, and you like, don't.

Shadow: ...Your serious right now, aren't you?

Redd: Yep.

Shadow: Shit... (Shakes his head)

Redd: Now, before I present this year's story, I have a Video to show all of you.

Slackur: What is it?

Redd: It features Bickman as a kid.

Bickman: Your insane.

Redd: Am I? (Pulls Video up on Computer) Gather round, everyone.

(Everyone gathers around him, to see the video in question)

Bickman: What the hell?! That's not me!

Zagnorch: I don't know. You love Nintendo so much, that I'm actually having no trouble believing that that is indeed you.

Bickman: Bah...

Redd: Now, I present to you--

Shadow: Hold up Redd. Aren't you the guy with glasses in THIS video?

Redd: Oh, you are just the worst kind of person, Shadow...

(Everyone laughs)

Redd: Right then. This is the Story of how me and Slackur beat up the Grinch and rescued Christmas.

Slackur: Whoa! Hold on! I've never beaten up anyone in my life!

Redd: Says the Advocate for Armed Pacifists, which is written on your Profile by the way.

Slackur: Crud...

Redd: Right then, our Story begins on top of a Mountain somewhere in Greenland, which is very cold for some reason. Me and Slackur were contacted by the Government to get back a bunch of presents that were stolen by an unknown thief on Christmas Eve of 2012. We--

Bickman: Redd, weren't you both here on Christmas Eve of 2012?

Zagnorch: And weren't you telling us that Coleco Story?

Redd: Do not try to defy my divine logic. Now, shut it and listen.

Zagnorch: (To himself) Divine logic...?

Bickman: (Whispering) Just go along with it. No way we're getting out of this anyway.

Redd: Now then, we scaled the mountain, and came upon a cave. When we entered it, we found a pile of presents. When we tried to take them, wouldn't you know it, the Grinch showed up. He cussed at us, then muttered something to Slackur, which set him off.

Slackur: .........

Redd: Slackur shouted out "I'm the Matrix, jerk!" and proceeded to go Kung-Fu on the Grinch. While they fought a lengthy battle, I proceeded to take the presents out of the cave, and use my magical teleportation abilities to send them back to the town.

Shadow: I think all that Eggnog has gone to your head and is making you stupid.

Redd: First off, I can't have Alcoholic Beverages, as I am a Diabetic (True story), and second, do you see any Eggnog around here?

Shadow: Well...no, not really.

Redd: Exactly, now shut up.

Shadow: Sheesh...

Redd: The Grinch landed a lucky blow, knocking Slackur to the ground, which led me to rush in to save my friend. I tackled the Grinch to the ground, and Slackur proceeded to get up, and elbow drop him right in the face, knocking him out. And that, my friends, is how we saved Christmas.

Bickman: Redd, that story sucked. Really bad.

Slackur: I kind of liked it.

Shadow: Me too.

Zagnorch: Not me. Look, it even put Izret to sleep. (Points to a sleeping Izret)

Redd: I was wondering why he was so quiet.

Zagnorch: (Sighs)

Bickman: Redd, where do you even get these ideas?

Redd: Well, I--

Bickman: Never mind, I don't wanna know. Go play with your Nvidia Shield.

Redd: Okay. (Walks away)

Shadow: Slackur, did that REALLY happen?

Slackur: Ehhhhh...

Shadow: Sheesh.

Bickman: Whatever. From all of us here at RF Generation, we hope your Christmas is...is...you know what? No. I took a muscle relaxer earlier, and it's just now kicking in. One of you guys can announce this stuff.

Slackur: Okay...From all of us here at RF Generation, we hope your Christmas is safe and fun! Merry Christmas! Smiley

NOTE: This entry WILL contain spoilers from the game. Direct yourself to another page if you don't want to spoil the game for yourself. Otherwise, read on.

Everyone who knows me knows that I love Chrono Cross. It's my favorite game ever. Lately though, people have been asking me WHY I love it so much, and just what it is that makes it the best game ever. Well, here's the story:

I can't recall exactly when I discovered this game, but I do remember how. My best friend brought this game to my attention. When he did, I didn't think too much of it. It was obviously a sequel to Chrono Trigger, which I wasn't too fond of. Then I started it up...

Right away, it's impressive opening lines and movie captivated me. I was most impressed, as the quality of the game was better than anything I had experienced since Super Mario RPG. Once I started a New Game, I was greeted with 3 Characters emerging from an elevator (after the introduction movie of course).

It started out with what was clearly some serious stuff. Then your Character wakes up, as it was actually a premonition of things to come.

Anyway, it only gets better from there, as what unfolds is the greatest story ever seen in a video game. As I played the game, I only became more impressed with it, and when I finally achieved the true ending, I cried manly tears. I was upset that it was over, but I was happy that it came to a nice, ultimately wrapped-up, conclusion.

Along with the main story, there are over 40 different characters to recruit, several side-quests, and what's more, the optional, secret boss isn't just a powerful enemy in this game, but he also has a tragic backstory that ties into the Main Story, which is something you don't see in RPGs of today.

All of this and more is what makes this game my favorite game ever, and THAT is why it's the best game ever. There are other games which have received a perfect score from me, but this one is sentimental to me, which is why no other game can top it. Me and my brother will forever debate over this and his favorite, Final Fantasy VII, but he's always going to lose. I can think of 50 reasons why this game is better than that sorry piece of game, and I will defend it until the end of gaming comes.

The bottom line is, Chrono Cross just has more heart than other RPGs. It came along at the end of what I call The Golden Age of RPGs, and ended it with a bang. As I've said time and time again, no game will ever top this one. Period.

Thanks for reading!

Posted under Atari Jaguar, Experience, Story

"DO THE MATH!"

Back in 1993, Atari unleashed a machine called the Jaguar to the public in the USA. This 64-Bit beast of a machine was advertised as being superior to it's 16-Bit and 32-Bit Competitors. While this was technically correct, it was difficult to program for, and had little 3rd-Party Support, which, along with Atari's past mistakes and negative word of mouth, doomed it to failure. That being said, here's the story behind it...

The Journey Begins
First introduced in 1993 to New York City and San Francisco Bay at a price of 249.99 US Dollars, it later received a full US Release in early 1994.

The Struggle
The Jaguar was struggling to gain an established user base. Atari themselves had said that it had only sold 17,000 Units in 1993 as part of the Console's initial test market. A good friend of mine, slackur, was present at the launch of the Jaguar. The following are his own words regarding it:

"Launch day for the Jag was practically a non-event, especially compared to the midnight launches nowadays."

slackur went on to mention that the cashier at EB Games had mentioned that they only sold two units before he bought his own, further saying that said cashier seemed surprised that he was excited to get one.

By the end of 1994, Atari still had 100,000 Units in stock, and reduced the price to make the console more competitive.

The Success?
The Jaguar received some praise with Tempest 2000, and it's most successful game during it's first year was Alien VS. Predator. Tempest 2000 was clearly a success story, as the following was recalled by slackur:

"I continued playing that game for years.  I would keep the Jag hooked up just to play it on occasion, and finished the first loop of 99 levels."

slackur went on to say the following about Alien VS. Predator:

"The only other game I picked up that truly 'WOW'ed me was Aliens VS Predator."

Unfortunately, the Jaguar's Game Library was too small to challenge the success of it's 16-Bit and 32-Bit Competitors. As such, it's appeal never grew beyond that of a small audience.

The Fall
By the end of 1995, it was clear that the Jaguar had failed. Atari ran early-morning Infomercials to try and sell it's remaining units, but it did not help much. Ultimately, the Jaguar sold less than 250,000 Units.

The Legacy
Despite it's failure in the marketplace, there are people who love the Jaguar, such as myself. There are those who produce homebrew titles for it, as it's source code is public. slackur had the following to say about it:

"I'll probably always have a soft spot for the Jag as a system I believed in when no one else did, and I'm glad I still have it in the collection."

As for myself, I love the Atari Jaguar, and just about everything about it. I have been known to defend it when others speak badly about it, and I have been seen going as far as playing a game that others would call abysmal all the way through on it. Unfortunately, how I came to discover the machine has been lost to time, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying it.

Early Memories
From what I *can* recall, the first game I played on the thing was Kasumi Ninja. While it is not the system's strongest point, it IS a challenging game, which I enjoy, and think we need more of in this day and age.

The Loss and The Return
At one point, I had to sell my precious Jaguar due to real life problems getting in the way, but I eventually acquired another one, with a working CD Unit no less. It was...painful to lose the thing, to say the least. I think it goes without saying that real life problems will NOT get in my way again.

Building an (expensive) Library
Jaguar Games are expensive. They once sold in the UK for 97p a pop, but here in the US, they can command premium prices today. Two of the more expensive titles are Towers II and Primal Rage. Some people attribute the high prices to stupid eBay Users. All this being said, it's not been an easy task building a library of games for it, but I think I'm doing alright, all things considered.

The Future
I plan to keep building my collection, and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. As mentioned before, I love the Jaguar, and NOTHING is going to change that. Smiley

Thanks for reading!

Ha! You all probably thought I forgot about this! Well, I didn't! Cheesy

That being said, I just completed a game as requested by Duke.Togo, Ninja Ryuukenden! And Duke, you better be happy that I beat it, because it was hard. Very hard. Still, it was easier than The Adventures of Bayou Billy, if that means anything. Tongue

Done so far:

The Kung-Fu
Majin Eiyu Wataru
Splatterhouse
Street Fighter 2 CE
The Tower of Druaga

Let's get one thing straight right now: The title of this entry is NOT a question. It's the actual name of the Demo Disc that I'm talking about today.

Now then...

What's Shenmue is essentially the Japanese Demo Disc of Shenmue for the Dreamcast. It allows you to walk around a portion of Dobuita (The main game's central hub area of sorts), but it actually has you following a goal: You have to find the Head Managing Director of Sega, Hidekazu Yukawa, and ask him what Shenmue is.

To track him down, you need to ask the people around town about him. Most people are clueless, or just don't have time to talk to you. That being said, you'll eventually hit a QTE (Quick Time Event, which is a series of timed button presses) that leads you to the local Arcade. Once you go there, you'll receive Yukawa's Business Card from the Arcade's Manager, which conveniently has the time and place that Yukawa will be written on the back of it.

Once the In-Game Clock rolls around to 4 PM, you have to go to one of the two travel agencies in town to find him. As you enter the building, Yukawa is leaving. He will freak out and run away from you, leading you into another, much longer, QTE. Once you finally catch up to him, he will explain just what Shenmue is. You are then treated to a Cutscene, which reveals that the whole thing was just a dream that Yukawa was having.

Despite being short (It's a Demo, damn it!), it features some NPCs and a few elements that didn't make it to the final game, which is pretty neat. The disc itself also comes with a card advertising a song that doesn't appear to be in the final product.

If you feel like trying something different, and getting a little more out of the small Shenmue Series, I recommend this. I also recommend a Walkthrough if you can't read Japanese, which can be found on GameFAQs.

Ah, Halloween. That time of year that revolves around tricks and treats. I like this holiday. Who doesn't enjoy messing with people and fleeing from the boys in blue? But enough on that. There are plenty of great games that are practically meant to be played on Halloween. Here are some of my favorites:

Okay, so it's not really that scary, but Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, is full of all kinds of monsters to kill. This is my favorite GBA Game ever, tied directly with Metroid Fusion. And before you ask, yes, I do enjoy it more than Symphony of the Night. It's also set in the FUTURE! What more could you ask for?!

The definitive version of Resident Evil (that's debatable) is Resident Evil DS. Originally released for the PlayStation, it had it's scary moments, but what was truly frightening to most people was it's Voice Acting, which makes people cringe to this day. One particular interesting thing about it is it's uncut into, which was not censored because of violence, but simply because the main character was smoking a cigarette. Think about that, take it any way you want.

Siren: New Translation (Siren: Blood Curse in the US) is scary. Very scary. It revolves around a group of people who must escape from a new kind of undead called Shibito. These dangerous, Zombie-like creatures cannot die. Ever. Instead, you must use a gameplay element called Sight Jacking to evade them. Sight Jacking, as the name implies (sort of), allows you to see through the eyes of nearby Shibito, allowing you to evade them easier. As I said before, this game is scary. It made me jump more than once, and I actually screamed out loud at one point. I highly recommend this game.

And there you have it. Three great games to play on Halloween. Go get scared. Smiley

NOTE: Siren is only available as a download in the US.

The above Ad/Promo was used for the 3DO in Japan. If you watch the beginning of it, you'll notice it says "BIG HIT IN THE USA!", which leads us to today's topic: Lying through Advertisements.

While it is true that the 3DO has it's fans (I'm one of them), the general gaming public was not ready to welcome the thing with open arms, partly due to it's high price tag, which even the PS3 couldn't match. It's a known fact that the thing didn't exactly sell all that well. That being said, why do the people who make Ads call what they are advertising the best thing ever, when all it takes is word of mouth/a little research to reveal the truth?

What I'm getting at here, is why do they lie about it in the first place, knowing that it's just going to come back and bite them later? Are the Advertisement People just doing they're jobs to put bread on the table, or are they truly dedicated to what they are doing? If I had to guess, I'd say the former applies here. That being said, I'm honestly not sure what the real reason is, I'm just guessing.

Don't get me wrong though, I really do enjoy the 3DO, but I'm also not an idiot. It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to see that the thing didn't make it.

If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to shout them out in the comments. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play Samurai Shodown RPG.

Whew...how long has it been since I actually posted a Blog Entry? What? It was September 1st? It feels like it's been longer. No matter.

I suppose some of you have been wondering just where the hell I've been. Well, life has been hard lately. Lots of unwarranted stress and stupid crap. Thankfully, it's going away, slowly but surely. That being said, here's some updates for you:

1. I finally got that Atari Jaguar sometime back.
2. My Power Glove Sensors are still broken.
3. I'm actually focusing on the Documentary I promised ages ago.
4. The ending to Nightmare on Elm Street is stupid. (Yes, I did finally get to see it. Don't judge me!)
5. I now own this badass TV: http://i10.photobucket.co...REDQ60_57_zps6f8d2ed9.jpg
6. The PSP Go is a GREAT portable console.
7. Does anyone know if the Neo-Geo Portable's Analog Stick clicking is a feature or an annoyance?

Whew...That's about it. Anyway, I'll hopefully return to actively posting entries soon. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play Skyrim.

Posted under Trading, Story

Greetings, friends and readers. Today, I bring you a not-so-fun tale...a tale of a disgusting habit, regret, and re-acquisition. Listen...

NOTE: This is a true story. Those of you with weak constitutions may want to turn back now.

Trading Video Games...a disgusting, dark, messed up habit that may bring many problems. Why? Here's why...

Sometime back, I had an Atari Jaguar with the works. What are the works? A working CD Unit, several great games, lots of memorabilia, and then some. I loved that thing even more than my NES for a time. I played it by myself most of the time, but sometimes, I would hook it to my capture card, and play games for the users here, and for the users of AtariAge. I had a blast with it, plain and simple.

So what went wrong? Real life got in the way. I was short on money, and I needed it to live, as we all do. I had sold/traded games before to live, and as such, trading and selling them became a bad habit. I eventually started doing it just for thrills. I don't know how it got so out of control, it just did.

However, I eventually managed to break the habit, but then I needed money again. Sad as it was, I had to sell my precious Jaguar, and everything that went with it. This saddened me. Not only did my disgusting habit rear it's ugly head again, but now I no longer had the device that provided me with endless hours of fun.

Perhaps that sounds strange to you all, considering most people hate the thing, but as I'm sure you all know (and agree), everyone has they're own opinion on what fun is.

Well, fast forward to now, about 2 years later (or so, I wasn't counting), I found a Jaguar with the works in the local Retro Game Store. To make it mine, I have agreed with the owner to pay Layaway on it. As of this writing, I am about 150 Dollars away from the prize.

Despite needing money, I ultimately regretted giving the thing up. I learned a harsh lesson through all this: If I need money that bad, I will sell a more common console, or find some odd jobs to do. I am a Freelancer after all.

So here is some advice for you all: If you have a game you truly love, and appreciate, something that has done it's job and given you a fun, entertaining experience, KEEP IT. Never let it go for anything. You WILL be sorry. Take my word for it. To this day, my habit still rears it's ugly head once in a while, trying to make my gaming life harder. That being said, I will continue trying to break said habit.

Thanks for reading.

P.S.
Once again, this is a true story. If you think it's a pathetic one though, keep it to yourself. I don't need the criticism right now. Thank you.

Posted under Anime, Fun

NOTE: I know this is a Blog about gaming, but come on! Anime and Gaming go together like...like...well, you know. Tongue

Let's face it. If your an Anime Fan, there are unwritten rules that you must abide by, whether you like it or not. Well, as of now, I am making these rules written. So, here they are, the Rules of being an Anime Fan:

5. Show some respect!
Okay...not many people like English Dubs of Anime. What people fail to realize is that these companies/voice actors work hard to make an Anime into English. Japanese is a very hard language to translate. That being said, more Anime Fans should show respect to those that do it, even if they didn't do that well in the process.

4. Remember where it comes from!
Anime is from Japan, plain and simple. Some fans will criticize things seen in Anime, because they don't understand Japanese Culture. This usually applies to new fans, but all the same, you should still remember where it comes from. What may be correct in Japan may not necessarily be correct in your country.

3. Watch Akira!
Akira is perfection in the form of a film. Need I say more? You MUST watch this movie if you are a fan of Anime!

2. You are NOT a Super Saiyan!
Dragon Ball Z is popular, and that's a fact. But for crying out loud, don't go around trying to fly or fire Kamehameha Waves! You are NOT of an Alien Race that has powers! You'll only embarrass yourself trying to act as such.

1. Study Osamu Tezuka's life and works!
This is the Number 1 rule of being a fan of Anime!! Osamu Tezuka created Anime, and as such, gave us all a gift that we can truly appreciate. The least you can do is go to Wikipedia and look him up. He loved his job so much that his final words were pleas that he be allowed to work. That being said, study this man's life and works, and never forget where the wonderful world of Anime came from.

Well, that's it. This list was mostly made for fun, and should be treated as such, except for rules 3 and 1, as I am very serious about them. Thanks for reading it! Smiley

Greetings, everyone! Are you ready for the biggest event RF Generation has seen since...well, ever?! Inspired by Crabmaster's 100 NES Games in 100 Days event, this is the PC-Engine 101!

What is the PC-Engine 101?
It is Redd's playthrough of 101 PC-Engine Games.

Is there a time limit?
Nope! This will be done with an unlimited time frame.

101 PC-Engine Games?!
Yep!

Do 101 games for it even exist?!
Yep! There are well over 200 Games for it!

Will you be playing any TG-16 games?
Nope. This is purely for PC-Engine games.

But don't you suck at Shmups?
Yes. Yes I do. Considering that the majority of PC-Engine games are Shmups, I expect this to be hard.

Is this thing really sponsored by an actual gamer?!
Yep.

When will you start?
I am working on it as you ask these questions.

How will we know you actually beat the games?
When I see the ending screen of a game, I will snap a picture of it as proof.

Who's gonna believe that?! Anyone could download an ending picture off the internet!
Well, that's up to you whether or not you believe it.

Can I be a part of this?
Yep. Throw out suggestions for games, or just send me some words of encouragement.

What is the suggestion criteria?
1. ONLY PC-Engine games. 2. CD Games are allowed, but they must also be in Japanese. 3. Absolutely NO adult games.

That's all! Get ready! The countdown will start soon!

Okay, let's get one thing right off the bat: Duke Nukem Forever is NOT a bad game. It was just released at the wrong time. Gearbox did they're job and gave us an Old-School Shooter that called back to the days of Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. The problem for most people was that it was TOO Old-School. Those people will tell you that this game is terrible, but it's not! It's funny, it pokes fun at other games (I'm looking at you Halo, which I do enjoy, but the reference was just too damn funny), and it's just plain fun to play. It can be easily obtained new for 5 Dollars as of this writing.

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad is a Hack n' Slash game inspired by 70's Exploitation Films. You play as two Samurai Sisters whose job is to kill Zombies and save a city. Pretty basic stuff, but with a slight twist: If either of the Sisters get covered in too much Zombie Blood, they go berserk and fight even harder than before. Like I said, it's pretty basic, but it's also pretty damn fun.

Wing Commander Arena is the most recent game in the Wing Commander series of games. However, this isn't one of our beloved FMV Games with Mark Hamill playing as Maverick. No, this is a 3rd-Person Space Shooter Deathmatch game. In all honesty, it's not as good as I thought it would be, being below average at best. It feels like it could have been so much better, but it's like somewhere in the development process, something went horribly wrong. I apologize to all the hardcore Wing Commander Fans who may be reading this, but this was NOT the sequel I was expecting.

I picked up Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen yesterday, and it's already managed to suck me in. Seriously, Capcom did everything right with this one, and it's on par with Resident Evil 6 (Which got a 9.7/10 from me). It feels like Skyrim in some ways, and features a great story, great customization, and an explosive start to the game. It was worth every penny I paid for it.

NOTE: This list contains MAJOR Spoilers for many RPG Games. Proceed at your own risk. You have been warned.

RPG Villains...The bad guys that try to make our lives a living hell while we play. They are all motivated by different things. Those things range from revenge, insanity, or something else. However, every once in a while, one comes along that just doesn't fit the bill of RPG Villain. Today, I'm here to list 5 of them. Take note, they can be lame for ANY reason at all, whether it be because they're cheap in battle, or just look stupid. Here they are:

Number 5
Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII

Everyone who knows me knows that I don't exactly like Final Fantasy VII, and it's main antagonist is one of the reasons why. The reason why is because he's just generally uninspired, in my opinion anyway. He's mad because his mother was killed, but rather than think things through like the sensible Hero that he's made out to be at the start, he goes insane and decides to kill everyone with a Meteor. Too generic for me. I'll stick to slaying Chrono Cross's Time Devourer, thanks. Smiley

Number 4
Ashnard from Fire Emblem 9

That's Ashnard from Fire Emblem 9. He's such a LOSER! Yes, he is strong, but there's a major flaw to his design: He's not a monster, in the physical sense. When one plays Fire Emblem, they are expecting a big, bad, monster of some sort as the Final Boss. This guy is not a Monster. How anticlimactic.

Number 3
Mankar Camaron from Oblivion

Yet another total loser, Mankar Camaron is "essentially" the main antagonist from Oblivion. He's not strong, he's weak. He's not scary, he's generic. He's not even that evil. He's just...simple. He never even gives a truly specific reason for doing what he does, other than to be a nuisance. He's in the same category as Ashnard, not being a monster and all that.

Number 2
Thon from Shadowrun

Okay, look. I like Shadowrun. In fact, I love Shadowrun. It's one of my favorite RPGs, but I really hate it's final boss. Thon is just plain stupid. He's overpowered, and you can't even damage him. In fact, to even hurt him, you need help from a Dragon you saved earlier in the game. That's all fine and dandy, but his story is dumb as hell. He's an elemental beast whose summoner was killed, so to gain a physical body, he collects artifacts from tombs. What the hell? How is this jackass even a real threat in a society full of guns and magic?

Number 1
Neo Dhaos from Tales of Phantasia

SON! OF! A! BITCH!!! I hate Neo Dhaos so much!! This freak is the Final Boss in the Super Famicom Version of Tales of Phantasia, and he is the strongest, cheapest, ugliest son of a bitch I have ever encountered in an RPG! He is absolutely relentless in attacking, and when he does stop, if he ever does that is, he turns invincible. The spell used to harm an earlier incarnation of him becomes useless here, and you have to rely only on luck to stop the asshole. For what it's worth, his difficulty was toned down greatly in later versions of the game, but that's not enough for me to forgive the developers for placing this jerk in the game. I am being completely honest here, I had to cheat to kill him, and THAT is why this jerk is the lamest RPG Villain ever.

That's it for now. I hope you enjoyed reading this list. Also, as always, this list is an opinion. Your opinion is subject to difference.

Hey all! It's that time again! Time for more of my Gaming Adventures! Here we go!

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is essentially an HD-Remake of Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii. However, it does feature SOME extra content from what I've seen so far. As the title implies, the whole idea revolves around hunting monsters, small and large, which is actually more fun than it sounds. With a plethora of different weapons and armor to craft, this one is sure to keep you busy. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten very far yet, so that's all I have to say about this one.

Now we're talking! Soul Hackers is a game I've been greatly anticipating! Coming from the Shin Megami Tensei series of RPGs, I cannot say enough good things about this game! I haven't made it very far yet, but here are some reasons why I can recommend this game. For one, it's challenging, which I think is something we don't see enough of in this day and age. It also manages to suck you in, preventing you from losing interest. Another neat feature is that you can recruit your enemies to fight for you, which essentially means that you can add new Party Members whenever you feel like it. (No, it's NOT like Pokemon. You have to talk or bribe them into joining you. Besides, Shin Megami Tensei came first!). You can also fuse your Party Members together, creating (or losing!) stronger ones in the process. So what the hell are you waiting for?! Go download this game! (I say download because it's becoming increasingly hard already to find it in stores).

That's Etrian Odyssey IV, another RPG from Atlus. What makes this Dungeon-Crawler unique is that you have to draw your own Map on the bottom screen while exploring the dungeons. It's actually more fun than it sounds though. New to the series is an Easy Mode, dubbed "Casual Mode" in-game. It's a welcome addition to the series for those looking to have fun instead of grinding they're way to the top at an extremely slow pace. Overall, I've found this game to be quite fun. Like Soul Hackers, it's hard to find though. I recommend downloading this one too.

Well, that's it for now. See you next entry.
