Hey everyone. A while back I posted a blog about my strategy guide collection and hopefully someday we can add them on here. My brother is working on developing a site that anyone can upload their Strategy Guides, gaming magazines (Nintendo Power, Game Pro, Game Expert, etc.). Again this site is under development so once it is up and running we could use everyone's help to build a database (hopefully we can work closely with RF Generation). SO I promised a while back that I would post pictures of our Strategy Guides. But first a list of my favorites and our most valuable.
Favorites: 1. Batman Arkham City Limited Edition Guide 2. Kingdom Hearts 1 & II 3. Legend of Zelda - All the ones we have 4. All our official Nintendo Players Guides such as Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger, and more. 5. Secret of Mana There's more but these are to just name a few.
Most Expensive: 1. Legend of Zelda Tips and Tactics 2. Lego Star Wars Complete Saga 3. Lego Indiana Jones 1 4. Chrono Trigger 5. Breath of Fire 1 & 2 Those are just some I could think of which are kind of pricey but there are some more. So here are the pictures enjoy!

D@mn, and I thought I had a nice stack of guides. I only own about one of your shelf's worth of 'em, myself.
BTW will this proposed database also allow for various "game cheats/secrets/codes" books?
Also, do you have guides for games you don't yet own? Just curious...

impressive!

I may have you beat ^.^ I'll take a picture tonight, but unfortunately mine are all in boxes right now since I was packing them away for a potential move that was pushed back.
Needless to say, ~20 guides in each box, 20 boxes or so now.

@Zagnorch P. Welinskivich II, Esq.: The proposed database WILL include Game Secrets and Code Books! And yes I have a couple of strategy guides for games I don't own. Way back when I used to work for Blockbuster and they would just throw out the guides if none of the employees wanted them so I took a few. @Shadow Kisuragi: Will have to compare notes! HAHA once we get the site going maybe you can help us get the database filled. We stored our guides in big plastic totes about 3 totes with 50 or 60 guides each.

@Zagnorch P. Welinskivich II, Esq.: Most of the guides I own are for games I don't own. In fact, that's what got me started in the first place. Someone gave me a Phantasy Star III strategy guide when I was in 4th grade, and I never owned a Genesis until late in high school. In fact, I don't even own the game to this day. However, I always loved reading about it and played the game vicariously through the guide.

Wow, that is quite a collection of guides there. I also like the boxed N64 games in the last picture.
|
Nice guide collection! And nice sturdy shelves to hold those monsters.
|
@Crabmaster2000: I had to give my shelf away. The weight of the guides was literally causing it to collapse, so instead of letting it die a slow death, I gave it to my roommates for their room.
|
yeah the bookshelf is pretty sturdy. We were looking for a good one for a while then Shopko had one on sale for half off!
|
I dont have nearly the paper collection you guys do, so I just make sure to store mine on the bottom shelf because of the weight.
|
Yeah I put all the heavy hardcover books on the bottom for that reason. Don't want to make the shelf to heavy.

Hey everyone. My brother and I have collected a lot of games throughout the years. We have a huge collection of games spanning from Pong Systems to the most recent systems. We also have Japanese systems and lot of cool video game related items. Check out our blogs from time to time because we "score" a lot at our video game stores, flea markets, and of course eBay. |
