Treasure Hunt Chronicles: Treasure Hunt Chronicles '09 - #22

It's been a slow couple weeks, garage sales are getting few and far in between, and school has been getting in the way of getting of weekend treasure hunting. So, unless I come across some huge find this season, I'm going to be making this a bi-weekly blog until the season comes to an end. Hopefully, I can keep up the finds until the season ends and those posts are worth reading. Anyway, here's two weeks worth of treasure.

These came from a somewhat large "community garage sale" which was more like a small flea market, last weekend. Doom 3 was marked $5, Barbie was $1 and MegaMan 4 was $0.50 at one person. I offered $5 for all three, but she declined because the Doom game was her sister's so she couldn't take any less. We settled on $5.50.
Turbo was from another seller that had a dozen or so 2600 and ColecoVision games marked $0.35 each, this was the only one I needed of the bunch, so I offered $0.25 for it, and the guy accepted.

These came from a garage sale after the flea market this week. They had about a half a dozen PS2 games, some priced ($10, $3) but they were different stickers, so I figured they were old, so I asked for a price, she said $2. The only one I really wanted was Katamari, but the other two were CIB, so I figured I'd grab them as well. I offered $5 for all three, which was accepted.

These came from one of the few sales I went to this Saturday. The guy had a bunch more games, all CIB and in really great shape, but they were either sports games or were ones I had, so these were the only ones I got. They were priced $1 each, I paid $1 for both.

This isn't exactly game related, but I will be using it in my game room, so it is somewhat related. Anyway, I almost passed this up at a sale because it was on the ground with a big $25 price sticker on it. I almost assumed it was a DVD player or VCR, but I checked it out anyway and realized it was a receiver, and there was a nice big subwoofer next to it. While I was looking at it, the woman at the sale said there were more speakers with it, and she pulls out this huge box with the rest of the speakers and other stuff in the picture. I tested it out while I was there, and kind of stalled making an offer because there was another guy hovering over me looking at it. Once he left, I offered $20 for it. She gladly accepted and even helped carry it to the car.
I'll eventually replace my current receiver since it doesn't work well since falling out of my truck, but I'm dreading the actual replacement because of the huge mess of wires that I would need to move.

Last week's favorite deal was overwhelmingly the Nintendo systems lot with 87% of the vites.

As of this posting, I have 2,298 total games, 1,895 unique games, and 403 duplicates. Which means I have 9 more total games, 7 more unique games, and 2 more duplicates since the last Treasure Hunt Chronicles installment.

So far, I've spent $705.21 this year ($11.75 this week) on gaming related stuff, and I spent $0.00 this week to ship stuff for trades and I brought in $0.00 from selling stuff, so I am down $240.92 this year. The total spent (amount spent on games plus amount spent on shipping for trades) this year, is $787.86

To sum up this year's stats, I have 376 more total games, 417 more unique games, and 41 less duplicates. And I have a "loss" of $240.92 for the year.

Nice finds. I voted for the PS2 games, but would've probably voted for the receiver + speakers if that was an option.

@Sirgin: I didn't include them in the poll because they're not completely video game related. It's the same reason I didn't include the price of them in with my spending totals.

Gotta be Megaman 4 for $.50. I'd pay full price for that one!

I would have voted for the Onkyo if it was a choice though.

Great deal on the speakers and receiver. I've never used Infinity speakers, but they have a good reputation.
