Treasure Hunt Chronicles: Treasure Hunt Chronicles '09 - #11

This week wasn't the greatest for me, in fact it was one of the slowest I've had all season. This was mostly due to not being able to go saling at all on Friday and there only being a few sales on Saturday. I didn't get a single system this weekend, which is kind of nice because I really don't need more extra systems laying around, I did manage to find some new games to add to my collection though.

This came from a garage sale on Saturday that was part of a "neighborhood sale" over in Pennsylvania that turned out to only be 4 houses. She wanted $0.25 for it and since I couldn't really go any lower than that, I paid it. They had a couple more loose NES games but I already had them, so I passed on them.

I got these from a sale that I've been to a couple times already this year, but they didn't have the games before. They were marked $1 each, so I picked out the 5 that I needed, and offered $3 for them, and she accepted. I didn't even realize until I got home that most of them aren't CIB because they are missing the original case and artwork for the back of the case.

These were marked $0.25 each, and since I knew I needed most of them, I decided I might as well buy the whole stack of them. So I offered $1 for all of them. She looked at me like it was some incredibly low offer, but it's really only about half the asking price. She countered with $2, which was a good enough price, but only a little under asking price, so I countered with $1.50, which she finally accepted.

These came from my regular trading partner at the flea market. Last week he said he needed a SNES, so I brought him one with hookups and a controller this week (severely yellowed, but working). I picked out the sealed GBC games to trade for the SNES, but he said he could only do 5 of the games, so I added a DKC to the trade to get all 6 of them. I then traded him a F-Zero for the Chuck Rock.

These were marked $1 each, and that's what I paid, both are CIB. Super Battleship seemed strange, but I couldn't put my finger on it, once I got home I realized it was because it was cardboard box that had been cut to fit inside the plastic case. I also thought I had this game when I was the Flea Market, but my checklist said I didn't have it, but it turns out I already had it.

This is the first time I'm not sure what you guys will think is the best deal of the week, it should definitely be a close one. I know which was my favorite, but what do you think was the best deal of the week?

As of this posting, I have 2,158 total games, 1,785 unique games, and 373 duplicates. Which means I have 0 more total games, 19 more unique games, and 19 less duplicates since the last Treasure Hunt Chronicle.

So far, I've spent $460.61 this year ($6.75 this week) on gaming related stuff, and I spent $0.00 this week to ship stuff for trades and I brought in $43.28 from selling stuff, so I have a total "loss" of $171.60 this year. The total spent (amount spent on games plus amount spent on shipping for trades) this year, is $543.26

To sum up this year's stats, I have 236 more total games, 307 more unique games, and 71 less duplicates.

Well done on the GBC, I picked the second PS1 score since I've never seen anyone get 11 games for $1.50!

I'm sorry your week wasn't a great one, although I would totally take 11 PS1 games any weekend. My weekend yard sales were surprisingly more packed this time for me though. I'm starting my own blog on my findings if you or anyone is interested. (Also, if I can figure out how to start one. ha ha)
