Once again, I had spectacular luck this weekend. Almost a 100 more games were added to my collection after the hunting was done for the weekend, and I got a system I've wanted ever since I first heard about it, but I never thought I would find one for a good price.

Also, I've made the images clickable, so you can click on them and view them in their full size so you can actually read some of the game titles now.

Best Deal of the Week?

Getting poll results. Please wait...

I think I know which deal will be the winner this week, but I may be wrong, so I'll let you, the readers, decide what was the best deal of the week.

As of this posting, I have 2,158 total games, 1,765 unique games, and 393 duplicates. Which means I have 81 more total games, 47 more unique games, and 34 more duplicates since the last Treasure Hunt Chronicle.

So far, I've spent $453.86 this year ($100 this week) on gaming related stuff, and I spent $0.00 this week to ship stuff for trades and I brought in $0.00 from selling stuff, so I have  a total "loss" of $208.13 this year. The total spent (amount spent on games plus amount spent on shipping for trades) this year, is $536.51

To sum up this year's stats, I have 236 more total games, 287 more unique games, and 51 less duplicates.

I wish I had your luck when game hunting

I wish I saw at least one Mega CD game at my local car boot, I've been there every week but not one!! Not even Master System! MASTER SYSTEM!!!

@Link41:  same here...

Damn, just....damn

I really should consider moving to the U.S. or Japan, because Belgium sucks big time when it comes to finding games in the wild (unless you're willing to pay lots, and even then...not nearly as good as this)

Wow, another amazing haul!  I had to pick the CDX, but SNES/N64 was a close second for me.

Ive only seen a cdx in person once, and that was in toys r us while they were being sold. Dude I wish I lived in your area and had your talent/luck for hunting. Ive said it once and ill say it again orlando is not classic gamer friendly. Great weekend of finds as almost always.

Oy vey... I really wish I could live where you do, we never have these kinds of great sales around here... Nice finds! Cheesy

Of all of the garage/yard sales I have gone to this year, only two have actually had anything game related and what there was was just junk. You must have an awesome location. Any chance you'd sell the Commander Keen for the price your partner wanted?

Great finds. Makes me sad that I work all weekend, every weekend :/ It also makes me sad that I left my CDX back home when I moved West. Ack.

God...I go to every single Yard sale in my city and rarely even see video games for sale. In the whole year thus far, I have only found 3 PSX games, and an Atari Jaguar. What is your secret? Also, how did you become so skilled in the art of haggling? ha ha

Another nice find weekend for you.

@boshamp33:

A Jaguar is still an amazing find though!

@blcklblskt:

I have never seen one before that yard sale. 5 bucks for it and Cybermorph. I couldn't pass it up. I really wish I could find more NES or even SNES games. There are many missing from my collection that I would love to add.

@Link41: I consider it more persistence than luck. If it was just luck, these people would just drop it off on my doorstep.
@gamepopper101: If it makes you feel better, I rarely find Sega CD games at garage sales. Nearly all my SCD games have come from the flea market, and even then it's taken me 3 years to find the 40 games I own for it.
@Sirgin: & @cant-grow-up: & @logical123: Come move to Youngstown, OH, you can buy a nice house for under $30K and if you want something in a not so nice neighborhood, you can literally buy one for $5K and get another one free.
@Wehll: I'm keeping Commander Keen, I think he had a couple dupes of other sealed GBC games though, so I'll try to pick them up as well. If I do, I'll definitely have the extras up for sale/trade.
@BadEnoughDude: You left it behind? But it's so small and versatile. I can't wait to start using this instead of my Sega CD/Genesis combo and gain an extra outlet.
@Boshamp: I wouldn't mind finding a Jaguar, I've never even seen one of those. My secret is basically to just go to every sale that I can. Even the sales that are advertising things like antiques and furniture will occasionally have video games, and when they do it's dirt cheap.
To get good at haggling just takes practice and confidence. Don't timidly ask for a lower price, demand it. And you have to be able to read the seller and their situation and base your haggling off of that, which takes practice of course.

Well, I left most things behind. The only consoles I brought were my PS2 and Wii. Bringing the CDX would have meant bringing Genesis and Sega CD games and I didn't have the space for that. Besides, I can emulate all my Genesis games on my PSP, so I figured that would be good enough. In hindsight though, I wish I would have brought it along for testing new games. Herzog zwei and Streets of Rage 3 look so sad sitting on the shelf :/

wow.....man i miss having weekends off.

Nice finds as always.

i should start making a blog about my finds, its a good idea.

Damn, a CDX? That is a nice find, I've been looking for a new Sega CD and I'll I've found so far was an overpriced X'Eye, oh well, persistence, right?

Anyway, looks like you got some great finds this time out. I'm planning on hitting some garage sales this weekend, maybe I'll get lucky and find something good. Last time I went hunting at garage sales all I found was a bunch of sports games though...

@NES_Rules:

I totally understand what you are saying about the haggling, and I think I would do pretty well at it if I ever found gaming related stuff at yard sales. You make it seem as if you have a way with the force when it comes to talking people's prices down. You make it seem as if you are telling them the lowest price they will accept. ha ha I hope my luck increases with finding games, and I hope you find a Jaguar soon. Good Luck and thank you for your reply.

@NES_Rules:Yeah I guess it makes me feel better, also makes it hard to believe that the guy that runs The PAL Mega-CD Library gets his games from Second Hand places and Car Boot Sales. It may be that Germany is more common with the Mega CD

@Link41: Ditto
