So i have been posting about moving into this awesome 2bedroom 2 batth apartment in a little "community" it looked aweseom and was very affordable(under 500 a month).
We went out under a week ago to talk to them and pick up the paper work and take care of all the other happy horse shit that is involved with renting an apartment. They said they would hold one of the 2 rentals for us so we could get back-paystubs for proof of income.
Today i picked up 2 money orders(1 for each of the forms we had to fill out) for 13 bucks. Drive the 45 mins- an hour out there to be told that YESTERDAY they took deposits on BOTH of them to be rented.
But its ok because they still have a couple 1 bedrroms that will be opening up or a 2 bed 2 bath for almost 800 a month. Because i want to spend 2 weeks pay on rent and car bills alone.
The girls we had dealt with then asked me again for my name and number which pissed me off even more since we had left it last time and they were so willing to help out and take care of this that and the other thing.
But not enough to call me before i drove all the way out their like an asshole to put money down on the rooms they rented to someone else. Or even bother to remember that either of us had even been there for that matter.

Well damn dude. Sorry to hear that. It seems like professional ethics are becoming a rarity these days. Biggest problem is, there's no oversight and obviously no one to impose corrective standards for situations such as yours. There's too much incompetence being exhibited. Landlords or those who rent out places have way too many granted rights nowdays. I rented one side of duplex and was charged for not mowing the lawn although I had no mower. It did not violate city code but landlords have the right to mandate their own "standards" as they see fit. So they sent someone to mow the tiny lawn and charged $50 which was promptly taken from rent I recently paid thus putting me "overdue" by $50... That's just one of many dirty dealings being pulled. I wish there is something people in our position could do. The only idea I really have is to find whoever that gives a rat's ass and make your complaint. If anything, I hope you at least let them know the crap you went through trying to jump on a great oppertunity. Make some kind of impact in some way but I'm not very good at this though. I seriously considered throwing spark plugs at the office windows but never went through with it because I didn't have a vehicle and hastey getaways on bike (even if one is a regular lance armstrong) doesn't sound safe. Best of luck finding another place.
