Hello people, I've noticed now that even though I don't have an impressive game room, you have to admit I have a cool gaming shelf for someone who only spends alot on games. Now it has gotten onto the fourth stage of evolving so I thought I'll show you the evolution stages of my Shelf of Doom, reason calling that because really I don't have much of a gaming room, just my bedroom with posters on the wall and games all in one general area.

Shelf of Doom 0.1 - August 2008 to April 29 2009

This may not be the actual picture of what the shelf looked like with the games in it, basically this was it. The only thing that was different from the picture was two wicker baskets that the Megadrive games were kept. The worst thing was actually fitting all the games together since it was getting bigger.

Shelf of Doom 0.5 beta - April 29th 2009 to May 31st 2009

As mentioned in "New Storage", I thank my mum for helping me with this. From what I remember, these were originally shelves for her music. But she got new ones and asked me if I could use them, and I told her about my games needing better places to be kept so that's how I got these.

Shelf of Doom 0.5 - May 31st 2009 to July 29th 2009

I call this the final 0.5 version because really, this was a reorganising of my shelf. I started to notice that my collection was growing faster than usual at the time because of the car boot sale. So I had to reorganise my shelf to fit the extra games, this meant the MegaDrive and (eventually) the Master System game boxes with manuals inside of them had to go to the cupboard. It did mean I could fit more games but it was a bit of a hassle putting things in separate places.

Shelf of Doom 1.0 - July 29 2009 to present

I went to the local Junk shop with my mum, seeing if there were any games I was interested. There weren't, so I was about to leave, before we noticed that CD Tower. Mum asked how much was it and the guy said 2, and she couldn't resist giving him two gold pound coins. After thinking on where to put it, I decided to put it like it is in the picture. I can now fit 40 double box Mega CD games, less than what I can fit onto one of the wooden shelf but at least I can take them out easier.

So what do you think?

Neat, you've also got some space left to expand, that's always good.

I really like how you write everything down so detailed at various stages of your collection. If you're still into the hobby 3-4 years from now you'll be able to see how your collection evolved throughout the years. Smiley

@Sirgin:Wow, thanks. For that I would thank NES_Man (apologies if I got the username wrong), since he basically got me into logging down any new games with blog entries and I basically used the style of writing he uses in his Treasure Hunt Chronicles. Especially his financial statistics and the end of each episode which I did on mine. You could also say that this blog was based on what he wrote on the evolution of his "Room of Doom"

Thanks for the comment Sirgin Smiley

@blcklblskt:THAT'S THE GUY
