Never thought this day would come after a year and three months of collecting. Sure it's got a bit of damage on the seal but this is sealed and I only paid 18!

That's awesome!

Could you tell me what the game is called? I can't quite make it out from that picture.

Wolfchild.

I am probably wrong but i thought that was one of the harder to find games stateside.

Also i hate to be a killjoy but it seems like your spending an awful lot per game. You've spent about 900 USD and are averaging 13-14 per game.

@Izret101:Yeah I know it's pricy, in the space of 1 Year and 3 months I've spent around £8.53 per Mega CD game/demo. But this is the problem when your only real source to Mega CD games are EBay and other online stores. Finding Retro games are way harder here in the UK, I don't find as many retro games as I used to at the local car boot sale I go to and the nearest gamestore that sells retro games anyone is 5 miles away (and the only Mega CD titles they offered were the bundled games).

I've never come across any Sega CD stuff locally. I'd expect to pay about what gamepopper is per game to collect for that system too. He doesnt get to many "steals", but I wouldnt say he overpays.

At least I'm not the kind who would spend $900 on one game alone, I never get those kind of collectors

Like i said i didn't want to come across like i was trying to steal your thunder or anything.
Have you thought about picking up games in lots and reselling the dupes?

It seems like you would be better off that way. Since it is so hard to come across the games in your area.
I could also be wrong though.

@Izret101:It would be a great idea, but it's hard to get games in bulk, the only proper lot I found was that guy selling over 100 US Sega CD games for around $1000. Many other lots I find also have the Sega Arcade Classics, the Cobra Command/Sol-Feace and Road Avenger, which are very difficult to sell off.

Retro is a ballache in the UK, the only real continuous source is E-bay, which is an absolute rip-off. Gamestation used to have decent amounts of retro but that pretty much disappeared once Game took them over. I have a cash generator (pawn shop) in town which, if some miracle has occured, may have one or two retro titles in. In a nut shell, it ain't that easy getting hold of retro items in the UK.

car boot sales are probably the best place to buy older games in the UK - over half of my collection come from them.

@AndyC:Ebay Auctions aren't always a rip-off, Buy it Now ones mostly are. Gamestation were also quite high on retro games (they offered Final Fight CD for £20, when if you look at my list, I got it off ebay for around £8.50).
@Seno:Most of my Megadrive games come from one car boot sale over a few months, but not as many at this time.

im still not sure on the sealed game front but if its your thing then go for it. at one time there were more wolfchild, prince of persia and jaguar xj220 sealed than open. some shops had full cases of them at about£2

But the longer you own a sealed copy chances are that there are fewer and fewer left in the world Wink
