Community Playthrough Discussion Thread

Thanks everyone for making the July and August Community Playthrough of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars so much fun. Pat yourselves on the back for restoring order the world and allowing people's wishes to come true.

As you may remember, thanks to Shadow Kisuragi's vast knowledge of the game, we were able to offer you with a slew of achievements to tackle while playing. It was a close race between Addicted and singlebanana for the biggest achiever, but Addicted just squeezed ahead with one more achievement. Congrats Addicted!

For being the RFGen member with the most achievements he earned himself a say in the selection of the next game for us to play through together. Addicted must have loved platforming and puzzling through those 16-bit Disney games, because he proposed we play the new DuckTales Remastered and the Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse remake.

DuckTales is available now digitally on Steam, PSN, or the Wii U eShop for $15. XBox Live Arcade will receive DuckTales Remastered on September 11. Or if you like game cases (and snazzy pins) "physical" copies containing a download code are in stores as well.

Castle of Illusion will be released via PSN on September 3rd.

If anyone is feeling lucky Capcom is holding a contest to give away 150 DuckTales Remastered press kits. More information can be found here.

Here's to another Community Playthrough.

DuckTales! Woo-Oo!

Is 360 getting a physical release?

Either way i suppose i will grab it and take part in the festivities for a change.
Haven't been able to as of yet... Well i could have through emulation but thats just no fun.

As far as I know only PS3 got a physical release. I'm going to update the thread to include the original SNES and Genesis games. I don't see why anyone shouldn't be able to play the originals.

@Fleach: I just realized I wrote SNES for DuckTales in my above comment. I meant NES. Oopsies. stupid

Wish I'd known about the physical copies with the code before. Sad  Anybody want to buy the code off me if I buy a physical case?

Congrats on the achievement win Addicted!

Blasted new fangled, video game contraptions.......no modern systems FTL......

Just an idea, but has anyone considered running two group playthroughs a month, one modern and another classic?  I know that not everyone will always have a system or game, but this may increase participation for both more retro-focused and more modern-focused collectors/gamers. I've had to sit out on a few of these as a result of not having a system, and it's been disappointing. Besides, I think some people may even have enough free time to do both. Just an idea, kick it around or trash it if you want.

@singlebanana: I like it! I'll PM you and we can figure something out.

I still have to get a Wii U so I can get this blah. Thinking about the Wind Waker edition coming out, and I did just get a third job so well see ha
