Sorry for the long time off. I took some vacation time that I needed to use up before I lost it and part way through that time my inlaws came in (and are still in) for a surprise visit. My game time is usually significantly lower when I'm at home, but with my inlaws around it was nearly non-existant. I'm back to work now and that means I'm also back to gaming.
For the first few days I put any spare time I had into Dr. Mario. I was expecting a quick victory. My goal was to beat level 24 on medium speed. 24 was the number to beat because the game loops back to 24 after its been beaten. I thought I had done this in the past quite easily, but in retrospect the speed was most likely on slow. Medium proved to be quite challenging and took many many failed attempts to overcome.
I wanted something easier afterwards so I put in one of my all time favorites, Bubble Bobble. Its not that the game is super easy, its just that with the infinite continues combined with very short levels, even the hard parts can be fun. Forgot how long it would take me and has to split it into two parts. Not a problem with the handy password system.
Followed that up with a childhood fav. MC Kids. Its a great little platformer that adds a bit of flare to the standard run to the end formula. Each level has 1 to 2 M cards hidden in it and your job is to track down enough relevant ones to move along to the next area. Its got some very interesting levels through out it and even gets fairly challenging near the end.
My screenshot program seems to be giving me a lot of problems lately (like on Bonk's Adventure). Can anyone recommend a good free program to replace Greenshot, which is what I'm currently using?
