With an overwhelming majority of the votes Sonic the Hedgehog will be the next Off the Shelf title. Nothing else really stood a chance did it?

Released in 1991 for the Genesis/Megadrive, Sonic the Hedgehog is definitely a favorite for many and was/is a huge mascot for SEGA. Never had a platforming game seen so much speed and style before Sonic crashed onto the scene.

Join me next month in defeating Robotnik/Eggman in 6 different zones and stop him from collecting all the Chaos Emeralds. Relive this amazing classic or play it for the first time if you missed out on it 18 years ago.

One of the great things about this title is that it is available on a huge amount of platforms, so you'll almost have no excuse to join us. If you don't have the original game and a genesis kicking around why not check your library for one of these titles Sonic appears on:

Genesis 6-Pak (Gen)
Sonic Jam (Sat)
SEGA Smash Pack (DC)
Sonic MEGA Collection (GCN, PS2, XBOX)
SEGA Genesis Collection (PS2, PSP)
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (360, PS3)

or you can even download it from:

Wiiware, Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Store, Itunes

So look for a copy during the next two weeks and dust it off.

Also feel free to join the discussion for this months game Castlevania (NES):

There is still a little over two weeks to track down a copy.

Congratulations on really getting Off The Shelf, off the ground and even headlining RFG with it!
I'm also looking forward to playing this true classic and sharing memories of it from way back.

Looking forward to playing some great games with all of you!!

I just finished getting all the achievements for Sonic 2 and Sonic 3. I finished Sonic 1 long ago. Can't really say I am a fun of the series even though I am a Genesis game.

@Tynstar: are you a Genesis game? Tongue I am trying to find my copy of Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis for GBA for next month. I am looking forward to playing!!

my copy of Sonic Mega Collection (GC) is on its way to my house.

@noiseredux:

Awesome!! I just picked up that game too a few days ago.

@crabmaster

if December is Vectorman, it works out for us. Pop in Sonic GEMS COLLECTION with a save file from Sonic MEGA Collection on yr memory card, and Gamecube instantly unlocks Vectorman on Gems Collection.
