I love Atari because they were the guys that introduced me to gaming when I was very young.  The 2600 stands like a demigod in my collection.  Well, demigod because I only have the 4-switch model right now.  Give me the Heavy Sixer and watch me float.

So what is your favorite Atari Game?  And I really mean EVER.  Was it on the 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar, or a PC model?

I would say that the game that I enjoyed the most in the Atari era is Dig Dug.

Adventure was always my favorite.

I've missed out on a ton of Atari over the years. Of the few I've had the pleasure of playing a 2600 game called Iceburg is the one with the fondest memories.

Yars' Revenge

@Crabmaster2000: I don't recall a game called "Iceburg."  You wouldn't happen to be talking about "Frostbite" would you?

Missile Command is probably my favorite 2600 game, but Jawbreaker comes in at a close 2nd.

@Crabmaster2000: Why did you miss out? Not much Atari in your area?

2600: Missile Command
5200: Sinistar
Arcade: S.T.U.N. Runner

Tough call on this choice.  I remember playing the heck out of Demon Attack, Space Invaders, Grand Prix, Pitfall, and Dodge Em.  Any of these could be considered my favorite, but I'm going to go for two instead:

Favorite game with friends:  Warlords - loved the 4 player death matches!
Favorite game on my own:  Rescue Terra I - a shooter that had pretty good graphics and depth and since it came out so late in the Atari lifespan, it was the last game I bought from retail for my 2600.  I played it, off and on, all the way through college in the late 80's/early 90's!

I've never been a big fan of Atari, I never played one growing up and by the time I acquired one, I had enough games from other systems I wanted to play more, that I've never played much of what I have.

But, my favorite of the ones I have played is Warlords. Its such a great, simple game to play with friends. Plus, it gave me a reason to learn how to repair bad Paddles.

@Single Banana - Yeah your right. It was Frostbite. Thats what I meant to write, but we always called it Iceburg (my parents and I) when I was young and for some reason I apparently still call it that.

@Duke.Togo - We had a 2600 when I was like 4 and my neighbours had one when I was a couple years older, but otherwise I completely missed out on every other Atari System when growing up. I've only played probably half a dozen 2600 games in my life so far. If I would stop being lazy and pick up a power source for the system I got from Izret I could put an end to that though. I'd also like to pick up a Jaguar just for fun too.

E.T.

Blueprint and Demon Attack.  To this day it is still hard to believe that the 2600 can handle Demon Attack.

@aeroc: E.T. gets chastised so much for being a terrible game and partially responsible for the gaming crash of '83 but, considering that I was only 6 years old back then, I loved it.  I wasn't writing for a magazine or working for a trade show back then, so my opinion didn't count.  It was simple and fun, but I will acknowledge that it was rushed to release.  Still better than many movie/TV based games produced over the years.  Who remembers The Karate Kid for NES or the barrage of Disney Channel based GBA games?

@Crabmaster2000: It sounds like you need to get that plug and get busy on some 2600 goodness. The Jag is great if you only play Tempest 2000. I don't remember the last time I ever even bothered taking that cart out of mine.

I always loved playing Enduro when I was younger and Pitfall and Jungle Hunt.
